I was wondering, due to Tenkay's post about a site to play Monopoly. I was wondering if it would be possible to set up a forum that would allow U.M. members to play with each other, don't go there people. Not just Monopoly, but say R.I.S.K, and other such games. I know little about getting the proper rights to do so but I think It would be a huge hit. Not to turn this site into "pogo" but to let friends and rivals link up and have a game of what ever. It would be great to extend this to an even more personal level with games that are relivant to this sight. I was wondering what you think about that and if it's possible.

People comment as I would love to have a game or two with memebers of U.M. with out leaving U.M. to do so.

I know this is a biggy but is it possible?

I've fixed up your poll, Silver Thong, as well as moved it to a more appropriate section. Personally, I think I spend quite enough time on UM as it is without adding games to the place

I don't know about it benefiting the site, but it would be great.

I won't say never because who knows what the future might bring, but for now there aren't any plans on the horizon for adding any sort of games section to the site. The primary emphasis of Unexplained Mysteries is news, discussion and media and I think we need to work towards improving those elements of the site before introducing anything else, especially if its something that doesn't really tie in with the subject matter.

You never know, perhaps we may see a paranormal themed games arcade on UM at some point in the future, however I have no idea when that might be at the moment.

I think in the future it would be great if you could play chess in the chat room. I just think with all the chess players it would be a cool idea.

Games on UM? Good idea, but I do think that it would take away from the paranormalities of the site.

Unfortunately any new features for the chat room would have to be developed and implemented by Parachat who are the people behind the service we use, there's no way to add custom features to the room.

Use a different chat service provider.... There are several I am sure that have such features.

That's rather an extreme length to go to just to accomodate a game of chess in the chat room.

No way would I want U.M. to be more focused on games then what the main idea of the site is, as I love it right now. Games would be cool though LOL. I have another small idea. Could there be a forum dedicated to Documentries? and I mean any kind of Documentries. I love watching them and when a memeber posts one I almost always watch it. A certain forum that alows people to post what ever they are interested in as a quick feed to the site that hosts them such as Youtube and the such. So many vid's and documentries on here but they are scatered about and hard to find sometimes. Could I add this to my wish list SaRuMaN ? To everyone have a Merry Chistmas and party hard come new years, anyone want a slightly used Christmas cake.............. anyone............... NO.....damn now I have another bookend

Hey Silver Thong.......I think the Documenteries would be a great idea, so I second the motion.......I'd take the used Christmas cake, but I already have 24 fruitcakes that I made into a coffee table....A great holiday to you...........

I like games

It would be fun to try and see how it works out, what with everyone being on at different times and such. Not to mention agreeing on a game everyone would want and enjoy playing! And if it didn,t work out well, the whole thing could be scrapped, but if it did work it could be a real blast!

what do you think about shooting games where one member tries to shoot another member's character type?

Games might bring the wrong crowd, we need to make these games to relate to the site in a way.

No word yet or is this a no go ? Even something simple like risk LOL anyway just thought I would keep this idea afloat.

Oh and a documentries section would be cool. Not a forum with a mish mash of doc's but a catagorized venue. Just thoughts that would be cool IMO.

Unfortunately this isn't something that's currently being planned for the site, I won't say it will never happen but it is quite a large undertaking and for the moment I won't be able to commit to developing it.

I'll keep it in mind though as a possibility.
