whenever i look to see what time it is it is almost always 11:44, 1:44, 12:44, 2:44, 4:44 or some variant. i often awake at 12:44 or 1:44 in the morning and sometimes if its a late night, thats usually what time it is before i go to bed. the constant theme is the number 44. i heard that lots of people experience this phenomena. any thoughts or theories as to what this means (if anything).

I have a similar thing myself, I need'nt set alarms for myself of a morning for work because I am guaranteed to wake up at 7:17 am.

I always tend to look and its on 17. Though this is'nt as constant for me as some might experience it, it's still a fair bit.

Maybe something with your internal clock?

also on my way home from work just now, i saw a lamp on sale in a store front for $144 dollars. not only is it the same number again but who the FFFF sells a lamp for that price?

The past week I've seen 11:11 almost everyday. I don't believe it's that "you see it because you acknowledge it" type deal, because I haven't really noticed until today.

Holy smokes, I just looked at the time when I read your post it said 10:44 and then changed to 10:45, creepy.

Hmmmm.. Maybe the ending number always being the same number .. such as 44, 55, 17, etc .. when checking the time could be a sign. A sign to what?? That I couldnt tell you, as to I NEVER experienced that before. Tho... Think back to the Emily Rose movie, she woke up at 3:33 am ( think thats the time her clock was showing ). What do you think this chain of time being the same number everytime you look at the clock, and it reads 12:44...3:44 could be?
darkestdisciple
wow, i looked up as soon as i read the post cause i notice stuff like this too and it was 11:44...wtf. i love it and hate it when stuff like this happens

I think the best proposed answer so far was pertaining to a biological clock. It is most likely due to your individual rhythms. Waking up at a time ending with the same number (like 55 or 44), especially if it occurs repeatedly in one night. It is most likely just where your sleep pattern falls, and once a cycle of sleep ends, you wake up at that time. This is very plausible if you wake up every 3 or 4 hours (like at 12:44, then 3:44, and 6:44) as it would indicate various sleep patterns completing and starting anew.

I always see 12:34 ... anyone know the meaning behind this if there is one?

Could it be that you are confusing seeing that particular time with other examples of a sequence? (eg the numbers on the keyboard in front of you.)

Addionally, I think this may account for a large part of the '23' mystery. Which implies that there should be more 12's than 23's. I mean, if you are looking at a sequence of numbers, its likey to start at 1 and then move all the way up to 2 (12) before moving from 2 to 3 (23). Geddit?

Wrong thread, Im sure

I had the same type of thing happened to me about 2 years ago. Almost every night I would be sitting somewhere doing whatever and glance at the clock, and it would always read 9:11. This went on for a year or so. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with what happened on the date of 9/11 or what, it was pretty weird though.

The human brain likes patterns, as soon as something "out of the ordinary" occurs you will usually feel strange or weird. Your internal subconcious clock is a lot more capable to keep track of "the time" then most people might thing grin2.gif. I'm sure several people who set alarm clocks occasionally go through episodes where they wake up "5 minute before" or whatever. Maybe this is just your mind telling you that something unpleasant is about to occur and that you should wake up to ward it off. A similiar kind of thing could be occuring with the "Zomg, 11:44, 15:44" etc. At specific points throughout the day you'll turn and look at the clock. You don't know why or how it just happens.

You know how sometimes you just know something? Like say your walking down the road and your about to turn a corner but you stop because you just know 100% that somebody else is about to turn that corner and walk into you. You don't know how you know you just do. Then someone turns the corner and your like "Wtf just happened.."

This is similiar, subconciously we sometimes are able to pick out patterns and make predictions without being aware of how or why it happens, its just another awesome characteristic of teh human brain grin2.gif

Or is it another example of Benford's law? Or a different version of Baader-Meinhof phenomenon?

Although seeing particularly times could be something simpler. It could be that you see lots of different minute sets, but you only remember the one that has become your favorite.

Ever since I read this thread.. its been happening more frequently! laugh.gif I'm scared
