is there anybody here who believes they may have had a sighting of a cryptid? no matter how slight it was?

I'm pretty sure I saw something one night while ghost hunting in the old ghost town of Bowie Louisiana. It looked like a lean bigfoot with very long arms and no neck. It was peering at our group from behind a tree and when it made a loud sigh noise we all ran away. perhaps it was the roogaroo

When I was little, my dad and I used to go to Loch Ness to look for Nessie.

That's how I got into all things unexplained.

I thought I saw Nessie in July in 1977. She was about 70 feet out into the water with her neck and shoulders above the water, I saw her for about 2 seconds before she ducked back down - but as my dad was filming and nothing showed on the old cine camera he had, I probably didn't see anything apart from shadows and the over active imagination of a 9 year old.

but... I like to think I saw her really even though I know I probably didn't.

thats cool folks its good thatyou actually go looking to spot certain cryptids. do you think you would react differently if you saw them for a second time?

Only thing I'd do differently would be have three video cameras and several cameras on stand by...

I have heard, been stalked by and seen a yowie as have 2 of my kids on different occassions. Some of the times you felt ok, other times felt threatening.

When I was younger, maybe 12 or 13, me and my friends were playing soldier, and we were geting really into it, like diving for cover, charging and pretending to get shot and be hurled to the ground, and I landed on my back and looked up to see what looked similar to a monkey staring down at me from a cedar tree, and my friends seen the same thing, they said that they saw it befor me, I didnt even get to speak when I heard "is that a monkey?" soo maybe that could be one, just not so possitive

About 30 years ago I was with a friend and we saw something we think was bigfoot standing in a creek outside of the town I live in. I have no idea how tall it was, but it looked really big (but then we were both about 12 at the time), it was winter and the creek had ice flows on it and the water was usually about 3 feet deep. We freaked out and ran away and never got a really good look at it it, all we know was something big on two legs was standing in the middle of an icy creek where it shouldn't be. This took place in Iowa by the way.

Several years before the above incident my dad and I went camping on a sand bar along a river (the Cedar) and my father and I both saw some kind of hunched over brown creature run across a creek that emptied into the Cedar near where the sand bar was. I asked my dad what it was (he's lived in Iowa nearly his entire life) and he said "I don't know...." After that dad decided we needed a dog to go camping with us and started taking his pistol also. He's never discussed the incident, but then I've never asked because he thinks any sort of cryto/supernatural stuff is all a bunch of garbage.

I got off my bus and heard alot of rustling in the back of my house. So iwent in the back and stood on the top of my hill. About five seconds later I saw a deer run through the woods with something following it. What I saw looked like a giant black cat. It killed the deer, but I was to scared to go in the woods and see what it was. I was eight after all.

At 6 years old I saw some type of large black cat(panter, etc) walk thru the woods behind my house.

At 9 or 10 I thought I saw Bigfoot. It scared the heck out of me. I think what I saw was probably a bear and my imagination filled in the rest(I was reading books about Bigfoot throughout my childhood.) The imagination is a powerful thing.

I spend 90% of my freetime camping hunting and fishing and Ive never had a sighting per say but I have had plenty of 6th sense feelings that I wasnt alone or that something was just not right about the area I was in. 2 years ago I was fishing on the Delaware river in North Jersey and I was fishing an inflowing creek to the river that was about 30 to 40 feet wide and every so often my lantern would catch the glare of a set of eyes every so often which doesnt bother me cause it happens all the time when late night fishing for catfish in the middle of no where. But one thing that stuck with me was the height of the eyes off the ground and the fact that they were refracting for an animal this big. On the way backto the car about an hour before sun up I could here something on the other side of this creek pretty much following me (felt like stalking) back towards the train tracks. Once I had made it towards the tracks I had to turn and head towards the side of the creek that this animal was on to cross the bridge and I was not to keen about doing so. As I had gotten towards where the animal in question would be entering the tracks I caught one last look at the eyes and suddenly i had that feeling of dread that I am sure we have all had at one time or another. I still to this day dont know what it was that gave me this feeling. But before I could react and head back the other way the animal ( probably within 10 feet of me) took off back down the creekbank and I mean it tore up the under brush to get away from me snapping limbs and busting through thorn patches without even slowing down. I could here it tear off through these woods for a few more seconds and then it suddenly stopped cold and then my fear rose in me again as if the animal had stopped to hold its ground. There have been sightings of cougars on and off through the 90s and 2000's reported by hunters and fisherman in this area of NJ but I will say this those eyes were to high off the ground to be a cat of any size or breed. I never did get a look at this animal there are no city lights and the woods are thick as syrup in summer so the night sky doesnt penetrate well into these woods. I have been back on many occasions to fish this spot and I had never had another encounter again of this nature here nor anywhere else

GOD, are you ever brave... I would never in my life be able to go into thick woods at night alone in the middle of nowhere. How does it not freak you out?

Only thing that scares me is another human cause humans are far more dangerous than any other species. Animals have predictable behaviors and humans do not
Cryptozoology:BELIEVE!
I think I have seen a few of them once.

There was one time where I was trying to fall asleep in the RV and I thought that Bigfoot walked by the window. We were in the forest and it was a really tall being. I guess it was Bigfoot but when it was morning I couldn't find any tracks so I concluded that it was either a bear or else my imagination.

And there was a time where at night, my dad and I were driving home... we live where there are some BIG saugruro cactus'... and I thought I saw a giant lynx. It was almost as tall as the cactus (which was over five feet high) and it was walking off. I guessed I actually saw something or else I was just seeing things at night.

Sorry if I spelled anything wrong.

Heh, my friend is the same way. =) It's not animals that bug me though, I'm just a scaredy cat when it comes to woods and the dark and isolation and all that, lol.

I appreciate your patience with my post original.gif I am 100% sure it wasnt a cryptid or anything that couldnt be explained but it was one of the main reasons I remained in the shadows of this site for the past couple years. But Im still left with the WTF! was that feeling to this day it just did not fit the profile of anything I have known or encountered. Low and behold im still here and taking part so I guess it had a lasting impression

My brother said that they saw a huge bird in the air.Thats all he told me, i'll get more detials from him when he wakes up.
corey tylor
He said it was the biggest ****ing bird he had ever seen. He was takeing a walk with his friend and saw it near a wooded area while walking on a back road, he said it went by pretty slowly but passing over the trees it was hard to see him well. That is about all he said if you want more I can ask him for you.
