It goes to show you how competitive the field is and what people are willing to do to make money. It gives the field a bad reputation.

From the way A&E was doing the commercials I thought this show wasn't going to be good before it aired (I know, easy to say after the fact). It looked to me that A&E just wanted to get a "Ghost Hunters" of their own. I am glad to see that the field of investigation into the unexplained is getting enough interest to warrant a show like this, but I hope that people don't look at this and think that this is what investigating is like.

I like this show in the same way that I like "Most Haunted" or whatever that other show is called. They're fun to laugh at. . .but, these people just seem to believe that EVERYTHING is demonic. . .That's just annoying. Me and my niece would play "spot the demon" while we watched. . .we just waited during each show for someone to say "It sounds demonic". lol. That later turned into a nice drinking game. . .

I watched 1 full episode and thought the show was awful. Since then, I've tried to watch several episodes because I figured maybe it would get better. No such luck. Ryan annoys me to no end. I just want to beat him with a shoe sometimes... The shoe of justice.

i hated this show from the first episode....they were doing dead time and someone saw a ghost looking at them from down the stairs,,and instead of getting the cameras over to the the stairs to try and catch it,ryan calls the guy away from the stairs and says it was a demon trying to trick them,,that set me off to no end.it made no sence,if you trying to talk to a spirit and it shows up to the party why not fking talk to it,try and work some sh** out,,not after asking it to talk to you decide its trying to trick you and warn everyone to stay away and not get hard core evidence that something was infact there...i called bull then and i call bull now i just cant sit threw the show ive tried more then once.

I must have missed the good episodes. Because every episode I've seen, they only just hear things. The whole hour is just : " Did you hear that ? I think I heard something, Guys, I don't think we're alone out here "

Your kidding me right??? You think TAPS is fake, and PS is legit?? This show was full of bull from the beginning! Every little noise they hear, every little shadow, every little thing they smell, they not only attribute to being paranormal, but they claim it all as demonic half the time!!! I know demonologists who specialize in excorsisms and have spent most of their lives chasing demons under order of the Vatican, and still have only claimed to have seen 1 or 2 real demons. Yet, this group of ammature kids seems to hook up with a demon in at least every other episode, and not only that, but have to knowledge and experience to excorsize them!! Anyone in the paranormal field knows, ONLY an expert should even consider doing something like that. This show is nothing more than a group of kids trying to copy the popularity of TAPS, and trying to make it more dramatic by taking everything to the extreme. TAPS is the only legitimate PI show on TV. They have brought a whole new interest into the field since they have been on TV, and have brought legitimacy to PI groups around the world by their techniques. PS is only hurting the field with their ammaturity.

For the record...TAPS NEVER ADMITTED TO PRODUCING FAKE EVIDENCE. They have had cases where people "try to pull a fast one," but they catch it every time. Such as the Queen Mary with the sheets moving and the camera paused.

I am in total agreement with 667, Paranormal State is a crock of amateur wanna be, "Gettin big" in Taps wake. Only reason they have a show is because of TAPS. TAPS made what ghost hunting is today. They made it possible for groups to be welcomed in the community. All it takes is one group to piss on the parade, and Paranormal State is drenching the scene with Grade A Urine.

I don't know, I can actually see the network giving this show a second season, just to see if it picks up any more ratings. However, nothing short of them getting Elvis's ghost to sit down and do an interview on camera is going to save the show for a third season.

What is so wrong with telling a client or making it public that you just aren't sure what it is? why does everything have to be paranormal to them? I don't get it? I'm with you MoonPrincess, not every show includes demons. They are a young group, and I think they are doing quite well. They are intelligent, they "LISTEN" to the clients, write things down, research, perform their dead time and then resolve the issue whether paranormal or not. I happen to enjoy it..JN

Eric & Cry Wolf... they are never going to get it. They don't see that PRS just stepped in a big pile of dog pooh and they have a couple of good looking young women in their group. That's the only reason why they got a pilot. They are not objective, nor do they debunk. If a penny hit the floor and they couldn't see it with their own eyes, it would be something paranormal! PS does not claim to be "ghost hunters" or base every finding on scientific evidence. If it isnt paranormal they refer them to various other people all in different fields of expertise..I assume young girls like Ryan, due to his boyish good looks, but HE isnt the reason we watch it. The watchers are learning? What are they learning per se? How some networks are desperate for viewers so they will include any new trend regardless of who the trend is about? Regardless if the "kids" have been around before the show or not, which they have. Obviously they don't have the slightest bit of clue of how to actually investigate to the fullest.

A very simple concept indeed. Paranormal State is for the scare tactic, and entertainment value. They wouldn't, couldn't, they possibly can't even be compared in the slightest to a well experienced, well versed, well educated TAPS team.

He's average. I don't find him attractive, and his demonic obsession is a put off. I have a feeling that most females with sense would stay clear of a guy like Ryan, and be repelled by his views.

I personally think the show is phony, but I watch it because its highly amusing to me. If it is somehow real, in their last few episodes leading to the season finale they seemed to be skeptical, scientific, and dismissive to an extent. It did appear as if they were learning. But, when the season finale (I think it was the finale) came out he went so far as to claim demonic possession!

They may "listen" to their clients, but they shouldn't take it all so literally. Its bad to fuel peoples beliefs when there might be rational scientific explanations. They should go into the investigations with analytic minds, not the minds of blind believers. Providing therapy for families is nice, but its just plain funny to bury things on their property as wards and insist that they wear religious medals.

Don't go into an investigation and ask a girl: "do you believe in god?" "do you believe in the devil?" "do you believe in...?". Don't assume possession. Don't put medals under beds with superstitious intentions. Don't give religious medals to people who don't share your beliefs. Don't cry demon. Don't use Lorraine Warren. Don't consult psychics until its absolutely necessary.

That's because its the only successful show A & E has.

If it had another good show with good ratings, PRS would not make it to season 2. It has more negative reviews than it has positive ones.

It is so bad that if they give it another season, I will stop watching A & E altogether.
