LOL I agree Eric. You cannot clean a home with a Priest, Demonologist, a medium and wiccans, that is just ridiculous and counter productive. That man in the trailer was no more possessed than I am. Also Demonics DONT tell anyone their names, never mind a home owner who asks "who do you think you are?" LOL..I liked the first airing but was very disappointed in the second show. The previews look interesting for Dec 31, so if I am around I may watch it for kicks and giggles, but I may go out..HAPPY HOLIDAYS MY FRIEND..JN
I agree. I've talked to demonologists, and know how exorcisms work. First, anyone conducting and exocism would NEVER allow that many people in the room. ONLY trained proffessionals, sanctioned byt the Catholic church, would even try to perform and exorcism, and only then after alot of research, and sanctioning by the Vatican. I have never heard of an "on the spot" exorcism, ever. And true, demon's do NOT reveal their real names to anyone, for any reason. That is supposed to be one of the easiest ways to exorcise a demon, is with it's name. Why would it help them get rid of itself??
I don't care for the show at all. It seems scripted. I am also a ghost "hunter", and know how investigations go. They have way too many experiences, and way too many coincidences. The people in my group only have experiences in, maybe, a quarter of the investigations we do. The rest are boring, and we are able to debunk 99 percent of the activity. If the people on the show really knew anything about paranormal investigations, the last thing they would want to do if a demonic posession occurred, is to hang around and help out. That is not a place for amateurs at all.
I also hear alot of people bashing TAPS on here, because they over-debunk things. Remember, TAPS does not claim to be out there to find ghosts. They claim they are out there to help people, by proving that their house is NOT haunted. They go in looking for rational explanations for what is happening, NOT paranormal explanations. When they can not debunk something, that is when they will admit that a place is haunted. Investigators should do this more often if they want to be taken seriously. Unless you have hard evidence, you should not claim a place is haunted. I've talked to the guys from TAPS on several occasions, and what you see on TV is highly edited by SCI-FI. It makes it look as if they are in a place for one night, didn't see anything, so move on. After talking to TAPS, almost every investigation they go to is for several nights(watch the change in clothes). Of course, just like any other group of pranormal investigators that approach an investigation scientifically, they do not get evidence of any type most of the time. So, to keep the show interesting, SCI-FI shows them debunking things, and adding in whatever video footage might make the show more interesting.
In my opinion, TAPS has the best paramormal show on TV, because you know it is real. They don't find things most of the time, they don't go in with psychics, or homemade equipment, they don't try and get rid of the ghosts themselves, and when things do happen, it scares the sh*t out of them.
There was a comment made earlier that TAPS does nothing to help people. They help people alot. If they can explain what is going on in someones home rationally, then they have helped someone. Also, if there IS something going on in a place, they call in others to help get rid of it. They just don't want to put that on TV. Anyone with any knowledge of cleansings and/or exorcisms understands why. They admit that they are not qualifiied to tackle these things themselves. They are simply there to try and disprove a supposed haunting. If they can prove it is haunted, then they hand it off to they pro's, many of which I have also talked to and verified this with.
