This is not a story......this is not fiction....this is the truth.

The year was 1991, my senior year of High School. I deceided to take an early spring break with two of my friends at the time to see his grandparents down in florida. Before we went on this trip we stopped at my friends house (Scotty), so he could say goodbye to his mother. I was unaware of it at the time but his mother was huge into white witchcraft. Before leaving his house his mother told us that it was not a good idea that both Scotty and I went on this trip together. That we were to "strong" together. I had no Idea what that meant at the time, but I would soon learn. Many strange events had happened while being at Scotty's house in the past, but that is for another time.
The beggining of the trip started out harmless enough untill we reached Georgia. ( We were driving from Chicago, where I lived at the time.) When we hit the border for Georgia it was getting late, around 11:00pm. We stopped at a rest stop to use the restroom and get a few Z's so we could make good time. Before we went into the restroom Scotty began to talk about his cousin who had died in a shooting about a year back. He began to recall a strange habit his cousin had of sitting directley behind him in the car as he drove, and how incredibly close they were. (Trust me this IS going somewhere.) After he got done telling us how is cousin died a strange knock occured on the window behind the drivers seat where Scotty was sitting. At first I thought it was a bird hitting the window or something but as Scotty kept talking about him the knock proggresed. I told him to cut it out and he emphatically told me he wasn't doing it. Well we went through this whole ordeal where I told everyone in the car to stop moving, made everyone show their hands and lift their feet off the floor. The knock continued. I'm not sure who's idea it was but one of us suggested that it might be the ghost of Scotty's cousin. Then the knocking got louder, almost as if it was agreeing with us. We got to a point where we would ask the ghost different questions and it would answer one knock for yes and two knocks for no. The whole ordeal was very emotionaly draining and after what seemed like forever I remembered that I really had to go to the washroom. My best friend William who was also with us said that he had to go to and joined me. (Scotty Stayed in the car.) After Entering the washroom and being completley freaked out, William and I were aproached by what looked to be a trucker in the bathroom. He didn't say hello, didn't ask where we were from. The Only thing he said was, "You boys having some car problems?" Both myself and William replied no almost simutaneously, zipped our pants up and raced back to the car. (There was just something odd about how the man asked us. As if everything else wasn't "odd" already.). Before I got back into the car I did a check of all the tires and the engine just to make sure everything was ok. We got back on the expressway and it started to rain slightly. The kind of rain you would see in a horror movie. Not hard rain but not a mist either. After about five minutes of driving the back right tire blew. We were able to maintain control of the car and came to a rest on the side of the road underneath an overpass. After examining the tire it appeared that it was slashed. I went into the trunk to get the spare just to find that was flat too. At that same moment a car pulled up next to us and the same man we saw at the reststop asked if we needed help. The only thing I could rationalize at that moment was that this man was the same man who must have slashed our tire. So I grabbed the tire Iron and Scotty grabbed a bat that was in the trunk and I guess we scared the man off quite well. But we were still stuck on the side of the road with no tire. Up ahead we saw a sign for the next exit 5 miles away. The rain had subsided at this point and had turned into a heavy fog. (Which I am told is not unusual for Georgia.) William elected to stay in the car and watch over it and Scotty and I chose to jog to the next exit to get help. We believed that it would take some time to get to it because of its distance but as soon as we started to run it was like the world slowed down but we were moving incredibly fast. It was less than five minutes later we arrived at the exit and found a gas station that was willing to help us at that time of night. But I still don't know how we made it there that fast. They put the tire on the car and we stayed in the town because we were to tired to keep driving. All the hotels in town were full so we had to crash in the car. At this time I was driving because I was the most alert. I pulled into one of the hotel parking lots and passed out. Now up to this point in my life my dreams had never been that strong, but that night things changed. It was the most realistic dream I have ever experienced. I was driving the car we were currently in and everything around me was a hazy shade of grey. There was a truck to my left and right and one in front of me as well as in back. I was boxed in. I panicked. I pumped the brake but there was nothing. I pulled on the emergency brake but that didn't work either so I began to scream. The next thing I remember is Scotty telling me to wake up and putting a hand on my shoulder. At that moment he saw everything that I had seen and started to tell me about the dream before I had a chance to even open my mouth. But the most bizzare part of this was that the hood of the car was steaming, the shifter was in drive, and the keys were lyeing on the dash.......
For the rest of the trip down to Scotty's grandparents house we were with his cousins ghost who made his presence known with a loud knock about once an hour. That was about the extent of the weirdness till we reached their house in Miami. We got to meet the grandparents and then hung out in his backyard in the sand box where him and his cousin used to play as kids. As he was telling us about him we saw a light from the corner of the yard. A lighter lit up and you could see the outline of a face light a cigarette. That was enough for me and william so we deceided to go tour the neighborhood and play a little tennis. We were gone for about an hour and when we got back Scotty was standing in front of his grandparents house. He was leaning up against a huge brick fence that wrapped around the front of the house and as we got closer I told William to keep driving but he didn't understand why. Next to Scotty I saw someone standing with him who I saw clear as day. He was about six foot tall and a skinny buildand was leaning over the fence right next to him. William drove around the block once and when we came back he was all alone. His face was white and before he could say anything I asked who the man was with him. He said that it was his cousin but that he never turned to look at him, he just listened to him talk. Many other things have happened in my life but that trip was the beggining to my realization that there are other beings and entitys out there beside us.
I hope that you have enjoyed this retelling of my experiences and if I have time in the future I hope to tell more.

Wow, that was a really intriguing story. It's freaked me out. Here's my story.

It was two years ago when I was 17 years old. My mom had suggested we go and visit some cousins in Marshall, MN because we live in the Twin Cities. My mom wanted to be there around nine in the morning so we left around three in the morning. We were driving fast along this road that seemed like no one ever drives on. My sister was driving, I was in the passenger's side in the front and my mom was in the back passenger. While we were driving in the night, I see a man trying to hitch a ride, my mom even saw him. I asked my mom if she saw something. She said she saw something. I asked her to describe what he looked like. Her description was exactly what I would have described him. During the whole time driving to Marshall I thought about the guy that was trying to hitch a ride. I though to myself, there's no house evidence that there were residents around, who would try to hitch a ride in this time of night? On the ride back we didn't see anything or anyone. When we got home, I told my older sister and what she told me shook my body. She told me that a year ago, a trucker was delivering on that road. Somehow, he got into an accident with his truck. He broke his legs and attempted to crawl to the next town. He didn't make it and when the police officials searched for the person, he wasn't there. About two -three weeks later, they found his body. And to this very day, he's still trying to hitch a ride to the next town.

<shiver> I've experience many things on the road while traveling to a different town. It scares the jeepers out of me sometimes. blink.gif

Maybe it could have just been an actual flesh and blood person trying to hitchike at night?

You both saw him, but it doesn't mean that he was a ghost of some sort...Maybe it could be a much simpler explanation?
