Lets say someone started a post or replied to a post with some kind of information that seems harmless, but could in fact be a bad idea to post.? Yes I know there are rules to posting so be careful or eventually they'll probably kick you out of the forms, so read the rules. Lets say someone in a post said I wouldn't mind blowing up the world for whatever reason?(direstly or indirectly) Well we could assume (and posibly should assume) that this person has a complete disregard for life, possibly all life and maybe was actually trying to do something to hurt others.
If someone started a post saying Juggling chainsaws is fun and anyone can juggle them without trying balls first. We might assume that this person could be out to try to make people do dumb things because it makes them laugh when other people hurt themselves. Should we assume that everyone is smart enough to say hey I'll try balls first and work my way up. No not everyone is so privileged to have such a thought process. If they posted something like this is how to build this kind of thing that could be used as a weapon, and someone went out built it and used it on another person or group of people? Is this is also a bad thing. Should we hold this person accountable if someone else takes their advice and does whatever dumb thing they suggested? You bet we should, and I'm pretty sure that legally we can. I'm also certain that certain agencies would agree and would take action if they needed to do so. Should we hold the owner(s) of the website accountable for letting such information be posted on their site? How about their employees? Maybe we should, and maybe we can if we decided to. Could this happen, I'm sure its possible, and I'm sure it has happened before on other websites. So what is acceptable to share and what isn't, and what are your thoughts, do you agree or disagree?
Any suggestions?
