Man, you folks are hilarious!

I've been having a hard time staying awake on the job for the last two weeks...things are slow going right now. I have yet to start snoring...it's just a matter of time.

I used to work for a video store, there by myself all day long from 10am to 11pm. It's a rural place, so not many people come in at one time. One day I fell asleep with my head on the counter. One person had already came and left, the second person woke me up.

There've been plenty of times I've been working on shows 18 or 20 hours a day, and have napped in the theatre* between rehearsal periods or production meetings, so I have napped at the work place, but not necessarily whilst working.

At school, home, cars, weddings, roofs (where replacing gutters and shingles and whatnot with my Dad and uncles, I just dozed off, good thing I didn't fall off), and during a drive thru (I wasn't driving, but it took them a long time to fill out the order since some of their machines weren't working)...
Once I get a job you can add it to the list.

I've slept at work on purpose and on accident.
Many many years ago (1980's) I worked for Starbucks. We had a massive unexpected snow storm that trapped a lot of people unaware. I let about 15 stranded people into the store all night. I slept under the icemaker for a few hours.
Several years after that, I was working at Microsoft on the Windows NT release and it was so critical to get the product out the door that I spent 5.5 straight days at work (yes, with no shower ARG!) ... I slept for a few hours here and there on a sofa outside the MSNBC studio... naturally, many practical jokes were played on me. I had my shoe laces tied together, a bull horn blasted into my ear, my coffee cup duct taped to my hand and the sofa... not good. haha.
I also unintentionally fell asleep on a data center floor waiting for an HP technician to show up and replace some hardware for me. Datacenters are often used by MANY different companies, and each company's section is cordoned off with a chain link fence. I awoke to 3 HP techs yelling and rattling the fence trying to wake me and get inside to do their job. That was embarassing. LOL
I think the tech industry is making old LONG before my time. LOL

I used to work in an office job, and there was this TINY little dungeon of a room, basically a glorified closet, filled with about ten filing cabinets. When it was slow we had to file, so I would go back there and lean my chair up against the door and take naps. The door opened into the room so if someone tried to open it they woke me up. LOL! It was perfect. They never had any idea.

I tend to keep really weird hours. Go to bed at 12:30-1:00am, get up at 4:30am to head for work for 5. Sometimes, if I haven't gotten rolling yet, I'll sit in the dark dining room and take a 5-10 minute cat nap before any of the residents come in. I did get interupted once by the laundry lady bringing up the aprons, that sucked. Just about to doze off then BRIGHT lights.

I've had a lot of close calls. Slow day, just ate lunch... I'm pretty close to falling asleep right now and I have PT in about an hour.
I remember when I was in BMT I took a couple of chances, while on quarters from coughing and fever, to sleep on the benches in the shower area and on the floor in the day room.

Can't really say I blame her there!

I fell asleep at the studio once on a pile of some backgrounds and props. I had a headache and thought I would just lay down for a couple minutes. I woke up with a client standing over me.

they didn't fire me for falling asleep on my break - even though I was 20 minutes late. they fired me after I went to the doctors and found out I had mononucleosis and got mad because I couldn't come in to work . they didn't care that I was sick !
thankfully that boss , who was the owners son in law , got busted stealing from the registers. they were blaming the tellers untill they rigged it ( this was before CCTV) and found out he was the one doing the stealing. yet no apologies to us.

Never, not once. I can be as tired as hell and hold on if I am in a place that is not my own home. I mean drop dead tired. Even in my own home, I will get a grip enough to decide if I wanna kick it on the couch or my bed.
