What if we are alliens but we don't know?
what if our planet is anew planet for humanity? (check the hestoric remains in lybia where a ufo drawing is showen)
Lilly
The problem with this idea is that there's a whole lot (and I mean a huge amount) of evidence that indicates humanity evolved right here on Earth. There isn't any actual evidence that humanity came from any place else. There are drawings and paintings that modern people might interpret as being UFOs (of the alien space ship variety) that had very different meanings (often religious) to people of the past. So, without any evidence for your hypothesis...not really much we say besides, "not likely".

I think what Lilly said pretty much spells it out.
We essentially know we're not aliens, so the question is somewhat moot.

However, "what if?" is a rather open-ended and somewhat strange question, in that the only answer to it is a shrug of the shoulders.

If we actually are aliens...deposited here in some form prior to when we know the evolutionary processes that led to homo sapiens sapiens began, the appropriate question, I think, would be, "So what?"

lilly i think u are right
__

MID if the hypothesis is right it would open a new door for more answers
if it is right a revolution will begin (i think grin2.gif )

because it was always in mind
and in our own planet much more mystries are undiscovered and the answer for that question is their answer
or the lead to discover the answer

the whole point of my question is to make people think about it
and eventually they will go byond it with their thoughts

And think about this I have. We (humanity) may not be aliens that arrived on Earth in UFOs...but what about how life began here on Earth in the first place? Take a look at this article on panspermia.

QUOTE (article)
Then with the force only the cosmos can summon, the comet slams into the third rock from a mid-sized, moderately powerful star. The alien microbe survives, emerges from its protective shell and spreads like the dickens.

Thus began life on Earth, 3.8 billion years ago.

Or so goes one aspect of a theory called panspermia, which holds that the stuff of life is everywhere and that we humans owe our genesis and evolution to a continual rain of foreign microbes. It means, simply, that we might all be aliens.

It's an idea that has been around longer than Christianity, but which still struggles to gain strong support among most scientists.

But two recent discoveries are breathing new life into the theory.

So, it's possible perhaps we are *aliens* in some sense of the word? The jury is still out on this one.
Chicken Lickin'
Technically, we are aliens, seeing as how we've visited Mars. But we're only aliens to Mars. We're inhabitants OF Earth, and have been theorized to evolve on earth (therefore we assume we originated here) so we are not aliens of earth.
DigitalSentinal
But by that same logic, then lifeforms existing on other planets and in the Universe are also technically not aliens either. And since that would be a nonsensical statement, then we are therefore aliens on Earth.

Then we would just have to deal with it.

These days it seems 'Evidence' is in the eye of the beholder, everyone interprets data differently, and with bias (including academics/scientists) imo

An improbability it may be, but not an impossibility, because No-One Knows for sure.

personally i'm a believer that ancient paintings depict what the people at that time saw/experienced, not what they believed in

(reminds me of a program i once watched about ancient Egypt where a load of phallus's made from wood ranging in length of about 6 inch to about 15 inch, and having a diameter of about 1.5 to 3 inch, and all they could say was "they must have been used for 'religious' purposes")... Sorry, i just didn't buy into it, Why! because there was a much more 'closer to home' explanation.

No, this is flawed logic.

Human beings are not bacteria, but a lifeform that has slowly evolved in response to our environment. We are a product of that environment, shaped by it, evolved into it We are an indigenous species.

Even if the first bacterium on earth WAS transported here by meteorite, this does NOT make human beings aliens on the planet.

Incidently Howdi, we have NOT visited Mars. Some of our machines have, but not human beings.

Erm....when did that happen then? I must have been ill in bed for a week when we landed on mars.
