I just want to see what everyone here thinks and or knows about this company. I applied with them over a year ago. Yesterday they called me with an overseas job offer. I am going to need to talk with them Monday to set up an interview. I was wondering what information you guys could provide me about them. I am sure there are a few conspiracy stories with them as a key player considering the position they enjoy working with the US military.

as of the beginning of this year KBR is no longer a part of Halliburton. I have been working in Iraq with KBR since Dec 2003. I will start my 5th year in a few days. I am sitting in Iraq now typing this wearing my KBR hat and lanyard(lol)....what would you like to know Porthos1??

Wow!, this is exactly the response I was hoping for. I knew that they were spun off. That has happened since my initial contact. Well I am supposed to fly to Houston at the end of January for processing. She gave me an option of Kuwait or Iraq and my dad and wife were both pushing kuwait so that is the package she is sending me tonight. What should i be doing to get ready for processing? Should I go ahead and try to quit smoking? Anything helpful you can tell me will help. How is it in Iraq? I will be giving up $15,000 by taking Kuwait instead. If you don't mind maybe I can pm you some questions later?

Don't worry processing is relatively painless.. although part of you dies.. not here but inside.

well the most important thing is to make sure you fill all the paperwork out as accurately and complete as possible. Especially the background check info. That is one thing that can hold you up in Houston. Also when I went through the whole process in 03 it took 2 weeks to complete. I'm not sure if anything has been streamlined since then to speed up that time but I don't think it has. Iraq is getting quite right now. It usually does in the winter months so thats nothing new. Quiting smoking is up to you but it would'nt hurt if you did it for your own health but it is not neccesary as far as the job is concerned. Fell free to PM me anytime with questions.
