Full Version: The Speculative Dinosaur Project

A lot of have wondered at least once in our lives "What if dinosaurs didn't die out?" Some people had speeculated that dinosaurs would turn into a humanoid species. Personally, I think that this is more science fiction than science fact. So I had heard about Dougal Dixon who has published books like:

After Man: A Zoology of the Future (1981)

The New Dinosaurs: An Alternative Evolution (1988)

Man After Man: An Anthropology of the Future (1990)

I have recently purchased the first two and they're on the way as we speak. So anyways, I found links to similar sites and found something called The Speculative Dinosaur Project. It is very interesting and very realistic such as the fact that large theropods (like T Rex) lost (what was left) of their arms.

Check it out and let me know what you think:

But dinosaurs are still around! They just look a lot different today, being birds and all.

Mmm...Kentucky Fried Dinos

Why does everything have to evolve into a humanoid like Star Trek?

I like to think creatures on other worlds evolve into something so completely bizarre compared to what they started out as.

For example, a T-Rex, after 165 million years of evolution could wind up becoming a handful sized blob of goo with one eye-ball and the ability to communicate telepathically. Sounds silly - but almost just as silly as Humans evolving from tadpoles, to fish to...monkey's?
Killer Moth
Well they already walked on two feet and had 2 eyes, etc so theyd probably look something like us

but you haev a good point though

No no no,Thats all wrong!A t-rex would transform into a floating grey blob able to figure out problems in 3.5 billionths of a second and wont need to eat, sleep, fight, read, watch tv,sell pb&j,ect.

I think some people missed the point of this topic. This is a website with most dinosaur families evolved if they weren't extinct. Not as humanoids, but as actual adapted animals, it is very interesting. Check it out and give it another chance.

My favorite creatures are the sabre tyrants and the therizinosaurs.
