I notice manyt things being randomly posted on abilities , and I thought this would start an interesting thread . What do you buy from psi ? What do you believe is truly possible , and what do you believe is just some kids posting crap that makes themselves feal better ?

I believe in almost all psi except what seems a bit too out of it . When someone comes to the forum and claims to have telepathy / pyrokinesis / telekinesis I generally believe them , as to not would be hypocritical . I only fall into disbelief when someone says they can move giant 1000 ton boulders with their mind and/or fly in the sky then shoot some giant ki ball down to the ground and blow a giant crater in the earth .

It's all fake, and it's all real.

It's all about perception, if someone belives they have psi power...who are we to say if it's fake or real? There is no test, no guidelines, no proof. what's the best for us to proove it's real? try to proof that is fake. i don't know about you but that's a lousy way to approch life. Why question spi, Aliens, ghost, nessie, etc? they are real..look how they have captivitated us. they might not live on the same plain as us, they maybe nothing more then a echo, but there are real..they are real because we talk about them, we read and write books about, we remember them!

That is a though one, because we have hoaxers running arround creating "supernaturals", and at the same time we have debunkers that claim that everything is a hoax. The condition is getting worse because some debunkers actually created hoax claims that something is a hoax. I generally approach all supernaturals (and natural physics as well) with an open answer "I don't know."

Personally, I dont believe that anyone can physically move an object with their mind. I am open to being proven wrong, but I think in most, if not all instances, claiming to be able to is a plea for attention.
However, I do believe that people can alter moods, and influence others' decisions or actions solely by using their mind (Not involving talking or physically doing anything BTW!).
Kind of like how some people just have a 'presence' about them, or how some confidence tricksters operate.

I agree with you Xeno.I realize that some people don't believe...but I understand that...because I was like that, before these things started happening to me.

i think that unless you experience something for yourself, you can never be too sure, as while a phenomena might be genuine, people start hoaxing it for attention and skeptics try to imitate it or look for other explanations. so like i always say kiddies keep an open mind as we havnt a clue, really!

I didnt even believe in precognitive dreams until i had one where my ex girlfriends brother in law died...and then he did in real life...but now I am open to all of this and since ive opened up i found i can even do a lot of it!

I believe in science. I believe in repeatable and quantifiable data. And I refuse to believe that if paranatural powers do exist, that they cannot be measured. Anytime that I hear anybody claiming that their belief is enough for them, I tune them out. I have simply seen too many cases of self-deception to count. Opinions are as varied as people, and absolutely useless to science. If nobody can build on the work that you have done, then you have made no progress at all. It is extremely irritating that parapsychological research has been labelled a pseudoscience due to all the amatuerish and shoddy studies that have been inflicted on the scientific community. Providing imperical data has become increasingly more difficult because of this.

I used to believe in science , until the paranormal came to me . Now I believe in life .

I find it hard to believe someone with they post five or more abilities that they say they are great at doing. If they say they can read minds, have telekinesis, and see dead people, I find it hard to believe. But if they only say they have one of those, I believe them.

duh.. what does spelling has anything to do with what we're discusing? I found a lot of people use this kind of attack when they cannot form any better argument. Remebemr taht in Engilsh you can sitll unedrtsand the cnotxet whitout crorcet speilng. And there is no such thing as "atleast" in dictionary. So make sure you double check your post before posting any attack like that... oh.. I noticed you had edited you post.. so I humbly suggest triple check.

Well I was just assuming that since you're so far above everyone else, pretending you're more "conscious" than I am, then I thought maybe that extra benevolance would mean that when you were typing (using your brain powers) that you wouldn't misspell anything.
Since I am only a mere-mortal, then I would be expected to make mistakes, being so blindly ignorant that I am.

I beleive in the psi I have witnessed for myself, and I think the psi I've not witnessed could be very real. I don't know much about psi, I would like to, but I don't. I don't even know what to call the abilities I have witnessed myself doing. The only one I know what to call is precognative dreams. This happens to me occasionally, I sometimes don't even realise it untill years later.

i believe everything is real somewhere and i think also that the people dont mind off topic, if everything was ont opic it wouldnt be as fun as it is watching people argue, lol

I agree dragonflamer....when it gets off topic, that's where the real learning comes in.

By having the people debate they spit out some info that is actually easy to understand instead of long paragraphs where you get confused sometimes, lol
