I've just read a fascinating article on the treatment of (Buffalo Bills tight end) Kevin Everett who suffered a severe spinal chord injury. It's the type of story that gives you hope... Most "inspirational" literature grosses me out but this piece is terrific. It discusses the event from the view of the doctor (who risked his career by administering a radical, nontraditional treatment) and the physical therapists as well as K.E. and his family. There's also a lot of medical information on spinal cord injuries. Maybe this is what keeps the story from degenerating into a sloppy soap opera.
Anyhow, the link is www.cnn.com and the article is titled SI: Everett making strides every day (SI-Sports Illustrated).
What a great read!

That was a good read. I can't imagine anything scarier than a severe spinal chord injury. I've followed this story as a Buffalo Bills fan. But I think it would be inspirational for anyone.
