I kinda feel sorry for the chia pet. It seems they are only popular around the December Holiday Season.
I've never had one myself , but I'm wondering if anyone else here has. If so, what kind of Chia Pet was it ?
Did you name it ? How long did it live?

Who ever thought up the idea for these should be punished.

All I can imagine is a bunch of corporate people sitting around a table thinking up these things.

Well. I think they're cute. Never had one though because I'd just let it die. Not good with taking care of plants lately. We got a poinsettia two weeks ago and all the leaves have turned green and fallen off dontgetit.gif.

It's okay just get a snake chia pet then when its leaves die and fall off you can pretend that it has shed its skin and then you wont have to feel bad.

I've had one. It died quickly.....It was a garfield one. I got it when I was 9. It got fairly boring to have, bu t was a great decoration! happy.gif

Never had one. If I ever did get one, probably never take it out of the box.

Hehe I remember those.

One of our P.E teachers was named Chia aswell.

I havn't bought one but I can see the appeal, you can grow certain herbs pretty quickly, and its a great decoration.

I remember those! I never had a Chia Pet. If I got one, I wouldn't grow anything on it. I'll just put the ceramic head on a shelf as a decoration.

I had two little herb gardens when I was around eight. I took good care of them and they were looking very nice. We went out one day and my mom left our pet rabbit out. When we got back my gardens were completely gone. sad.gif

So the year I got a chia pet...it was a Chia-kitty. my cousin got a chia-puppy.. we put the naked chias on our shelf and promptly went to play with the coconut tree we had already been playing with all year. we never did get any coconut milk out of them. always the ground got the milk.

PERFECTION- I think you and I should bank in on the Chia boss for the next coming holiday gifts in the collection of the pets with sprouts for hair. CHHCCHAA chaachia , or however the song goes , lol, better yet the chia bully. or chia thing. those are just among the few new future chias that can have potential, what do ya think. btw, I meant the bosses that realy are mean and very difficult to deal with like in the boardroom, market kind, without any real sense to the product but just monies in the pocket. Poor chia pets only get recognition once a year anyway. I feel sorry for the product so, why not add a little ummph to it. just ideas but i bet it can grow to be huge. teeheee
Abecrombie
To think it has captured the posts of 36 counting, and all the post topics Ive started , I hoped in the past to realy capture allot of attention got about 4 posts if that. lol
what gives?
Hey first off lets look at the dangerous message it gives those that get them for gifts .
first off you have to soak the whle thing in water for 24 hours, isnt that sending a bad message for a chia , to drown it than spread these seed on its head, and then watch it grow?
perhaps spongebob squarepants can have a collection at least hes meant to soak up water huh?
Or the helsinki hair club for men or the bosney hair club, better yet the clapper , hands on hands off, clap once , is another such victim to the holiday collections of so called gifts. It is by the way the thought that counts and look as I get older, I too, want a chia pet, but scooby doo only not shaggy.
haha lol, One day I can almost guarentee it , if unopened would be a valuable collecters item.

It has a place in the history of weird gifts and such things that make us compelled to poke fun at. WHY? again its only good for advertising once a year, they need to do something else for it to be brought back into mainstream society, .NOT. it depends on the chia subject . Yes it could be something a bit srtanger but funniers to buy and funnier to watch this process of chia grow as if it were hair. right? So far I love the responses here , who would havethought it gained as many posts as it did? It being useless most likely , the ones responsible for its creation need to work a bit more for the life of the product. lol, could help. the Bush chia theres one for ya. lol
