My song makes me feel so much better when I feel bad, or hurt. It lifts me up when I'm down. Here it is:

Go figure the person who names themselves after MCR will name an MCR song... predictable...
Anywho mine is Symphony #9 by Ludwig Van Beethoven... Classical is the only genre that relaxes me.

Ironically, I very rarely hear words in songs, I tend to hear the music only unless I really concentrate and listen to the lyrics - bloody wacky I tell you

Even stranger, I hear the person singing and think some people's voices are absolutely outstanding - but again I don't hear the words

It will be the tune that uplifts me, if it hits certain notes - some of Alison Moyet's songs do this for me.

My song is called Beloved by VNV Nation from their album Futureperfect. Always on my mind is my Love, passed away 3 years ago this winter. While the lyrics to this song ring true for me...I still cannot properly convey the many emotions it stirs within me with, except to say that they are powerful.
It's colder than before, the seasons took all they had come for
Now winter dances here.
It seems so fitting don't you think, to dress the ground in white, and gray?
It's so quiet I can hear
My thoughts touching every second that I spent waiting for you.
Circumstances afford me no second chance to tell you, how much I've missed you.
My beloved do you know, when the warm wind comes again
Another year will start to pass, and please don't ask me why I'm here
Something deeper brought me, than a need to remember.
We were once young and blessed with wings,
No heights could keep us from their reach No sacred place we did not soar.
Still greater things burned within us
I don't regret the choices that I've made, I know you feel the same.
My beloved do you know
How many times I stared at clouds, thinking that I saw you there
These are feelings that do not pass so easily, I can't forget what we claimed is ours.
Moments lost and time remains, I am so proud of what we were
No pain remains, no feeling,
Eternity awaits.
Grant me wings that I might fly, my restless soul is longing
No pain remains, no feeling,
Eternity awaits.
My beloved do you know, when the warm wind comes again
Another year will start to pass. And Please don't ask me why I'm here
Something deeper brought me, than a need to remember.
My beloved do you know
How many times I stared at clouds, thinking that I saw you there
These are feelings that do not pass so easily, I can't forget what we claimed is ours.
Moments lost and time remains, I am so proud of what we were
No pain remains, no feeling,
Eternity awaits.
Grant me wings that I might fly, my restless soul is longing
No pain remains, no feeling,
Eternity awaits.
Belle.

Same here! I actually don't care at all what a song is about. I have bad hearing for distinguishing words on songs and in advertisements since I was a child so I get them wrong anyways! Tis a family joke
Stuff by U2 or classical music touches me most.
Oh and 'Don't you forget about me' by Simple Minds

I'll Be Here In The Morning by Townes van Zandt always gets me close to crying, also None But The Rain also by van Zandt.
I'm also partial to For the Longest Time by Billy Joel but i've loved that song since I was a little kid.

I can listen to power ballads all day. The mix of sad songs with powerful music is compelling. But, if I want to relax, anything by Enya. Damn that woman can sing.
