ROSEVILLE, Calif. -- The Sacramento Violent Crimes Task Force is on the hunt for a woman who has been dubbed the "Grandma Bandit."

The woman is wanted in connection with the Wednesday robbery of a US Bank inside the Safeway at 989 Sunrise Avenue in Roseville.

Investigators said she presented a note demanding money from the teller, and later showed a handgun in her purse.

According to a news release from the FBI, she is a white female, 65 to 70 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 130 to 145 pounds with light brown hair that has been dyed and permed.

ROCKLIN, Calif. -- A Rocklin woman accused of being the "Grandma Bandit" was arrested on Tuesday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.

Valerie Harris, 50, was taken into custody following a search of her home.

Authorities said Harris is suspected of the Dec. 12 armed robbery of the U.S. Bank branch located inside of a Safeway store on Sunrise Avenue in Roseville.



During the robbery, Harris presented a note demanding money from the teller and displayed a handgun that was kept in her purse, police said

What,dont believe the hype,Here in Dallas there was this woman who worked at a little marina on Lake Ray Hubbard,sweetest lady youd know,Well the police shot her to death because they found out that she robbed a few banks and whan they found her in her mobile home and knocked on the door she came out armed and was shot to death,cant seem to remember her name,True story.I used to by minnows from her she seemed so sweet.little did we know....you can probably find the arttical in the Dallas Morning News Arcives.this happened about 2-3 years back.Dont underestamate little old ladys. ohmy.gif

When was this? I don't remember hearing anything like this recently on Fox 4.
