Both the ps3 and 360 have their plus and minuses. Personally I love my 360 wub.gif, as i'm looking forward to Halo Wars. Just my $.02.

All have their merits. I love my Wii, it's offered me lots of unique experiences, but the fact is, those are few and far between. For every Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime, there's a ton of barely playable crapware I could care less about. Most of what I play on it are virtual console titles, truth be told. I'm not really looking forward to another retail release until Animal Crossing, to be honest.

Xbox is fun... I got mine 2 years ago when Dead Rising came out, and I still play that game. I've got quite a few games for it, and play it a good bit. I've had the dread red ring of death once, and I'm not entirely convinced that wasn't caused by my cat jumping on my Xbox when it was on, because right after he did, it started skipping and hanging on loading in Guitar Hero 3, then it died the next day.

I've got nothing against the PS3, and I wouldn't mind having one, but I can't justify it right now. Metal Gear and Uncharted are the only two PS3 exclusives I have to have... other than that, it's all the same stuff that's on the 360, and there's no compelling reason to own both. It's not like the original Xbox vs. PS2, where I'd get slightly better graphics and faster load times on the Xbox - it's all the same, more or less.

Hideo Kojima owns the MGS IP IIRC, and Kojima haet Microsoft, so no, I don't think MGS4 will ever be released on the 360. Besides, it wouldn't surprise me if Sony gave both Kojima and Konami moneyhats to ensure that MGS4 would never be ported.

So MGS 2 and 3 didn't make it to the XBox? MGS1 wasn't remade for the Gamecube?

Business is business regardless of petty feelings. Next MGS4 gets ported to the 360, bye that time Sony won't care about it because everyone who wanted it for the PS3 would have bought it already and Konami gets a boat load of more cash for taping into the 360 user base. There is no reason not to do the same thing they did with MGS2 and 3.

Sony didn't shell out the cash to keep GTA exclusive...or Resident Evil...or Devil May Cry...or Final Fantasy...the list goes on

The PS3 is still lacking their own "standout" game like, say, Halo 3. I think the highest two games have sold 3 million each (Resistance and Motorstorm) while Halo 3 has sold something like 8 million? I'm not a fan of Halo 3, by the way! In fact I quite look forward to Resistance 2. I'm biased, though. I've been a fan of all three at one time or another. Sony should release a white PS3 like the ones seen at E3, then they'd really catch some people's attention. You've got Wii which is white and Xbox 360 which is white... then you've got the Xbox 360 which also comes in black and a limited edition dark greenish thing, and the poor PS3 stands out being that nasty black color and having only the black color. Boo, Sony!

Also, boo Nintendo! I wanted a black Wii. sad.gif

PS3--Playstation has better games in my opinion. Don't like X-Box games too much, although I like the graphics.

I haven't had a Nintendo since the old 8-bit one where you had to blow hard into the cartridge...so I don't know anything about the Wii.

Nintendo has said they will release other colors (I think they've shown blue, red and black) when they are able to keep up with demand. That was nearly two years ago now. They've increased supply a few times and keep selling out too quickly.

MGS2 came out on the original Xbox, but MGS3 didn't. And the port of MGS2 sucked, it had several issues with slowdown. Not that the Xbox couldn't handle it, but it was just a sloppy port all around. It didn't sell very well either, because it came out right around the time as the original Splinter Cell, which filled the niche of stealth action.

Personally, I don't think MGS4 will ever appear on Xbox. Though I DO think it will end up as a launch title for the successor to the 360.

Nobody really cared much about Twin Snakes, as it was old hat with new graphics (besides, there were few who actually bought the GC console), MGS2 on Xbox was a port (and a supposedly awful one too, at that), but MGS3 was never released on any other console than the PS2.

Would Sony care if MGS4 got ported to the 360 later? Probably not. They've achieved what they wanted to; get a game that touts the Blu-ray format and gives the PS3 a sales spike. But if it was to be ported to the 360, the entire code would have to be rewritten and split up over multiple discs, the Sony and Apple references would have to be removed and the audio would have to be compressed. Which would all result in a gimped version of MGS4. I really can't see Kojima agreeing to do that (the man is supposedly a perfectionist and a bit of a Sonyfriend.. Like Itagaki loves Microsoft and the Xbox brand).

Besides, GTA and Resident Evil were never exclusives (GTA was a timed exclusive, but not a console-exclusive), and DMC 3 was also available for PC.

And then there's this...
