I've wanted to make an Image of my OS for a while, but I am left in the dust with what exactly to do. Something similar as System Restore, only the Image will be of a complete installed and setup OS.

Acronis seems to be a good option in terms of software, but so many options I don't know which to pick.

So does anyone know how to make an image of my OS as it is now, so that at any time I can plop that cd into any other computer and install the exact image there?

Thanks in adv.

You can try microsoft ghost.

Have the ghost program on a bootable disc and the image of your OS on an external drive. The first time you'll run it you'll want to copy it to an image, and then after that it's just from image. Just make sure the external drive is plugged in before you run ghost, or the computer won't read it.
