A wolf walked into a packed bar in Italy, ate a steak sandwich and walked out again.

The wolf strolled into the bar at Villetta Barrea, near to the Abruzzo national park, and helped itself to a steak sandwich from a table.

Bar owner Giacinto Lorenzo, 43, said: "It sounds like the start of a bad joke, but it really happened.

"Everyone here knows what a wolf looks like and there was no mistaking this beast for a big dog. It was one of the wolves from the national park.

"It looked pretty thin and we guess it must have been suffering with the recent cold weather and the snow.

"Everyone was so frightened we couldn't move for about five minutes afterwards, but the wolf just sauntered out as if it was the most normal thing in the world."

That's so cool! "ate a steak sandwich and walked out again" laugh.gif
But of course, it's not very natural for a wild animal to do this. If those people were right and it really was a wild wolf, they should be cautious, because he might have rabies or something that makes him behave in this way.

and the wolf acted like it was natural huh? if I'd been tending that bar I would have said, "why the long face?"

Poor thing was hungry. I'm glad no one tried to kill it or chase it off. Maybe they can start leaving food out for it original.gif

Bad, bad idea, I use to leave food out for stray cats... next thing I know their are 30 stray cats living outside my house. Now imagine that situation with wolves... outside a bad no less, bad for bussiness
*MoG*
Wow, it's lucky there was something there for the wolf to eat... can you imagine what would have happened if there wasn't? ohmy.gif

It did sound like the beginning of a bad joke.....I'm surprised it was only one wolf, I thought they tended to travel in packs...Unless the other's found a good Italian restaurant........

LOL. I am sure that the smell of the steak sandwich is what brought it into the bar. And if it didn't attack or even growl at the patron, I don't think it had rabies. Rabies would make it confrontational and aggressive. It just seems to have been really, really hungry.

Probably raised in captivity and released?

That does seem like a very good possibility, might have been a wolf husky hybrid, they look stunningly similar too!

Very true, incredibly beautiful animals.

Lol, this sounds cool and a bit humorous. Plus, I don't really understand why people are so afraid of wolves. Unless it's provoked or has a really bad rabie infection, I think humans should be afraid of them. Wolves are not bloodthirsty monsters. That's just a stupid steriotype. <--spell check.
