Its getting a little better to me, i was going to really blow it off when the SWEET medium said he was gonna channel whatever was in the house that had all the unexplained dog deaths, and if he started speaking from another dimension i was going to have to visit the show and kick him...
I thought it was pretty good this time. The one thing I like about it is, they research the house and land, they "listen" to their clients and seem to take care of the problems instead of performing an investigation and leaving the public wondering what the ending was. I loved that black lab, and he would NOT enter that house. That has to tell ya something..I detest those who harm or kill animals..UGH..JN

I agree with whoever said that a demon would never let it's name be known. That is the fasted and easiest way to exorcise one!!
And anyone who knows anything about demonology, knows that the fewer people you have sit in on an exorcism, the better. A chain is only as strong as it weakest link.
And the fact that they exorcised the guy, right there on the spot, with no preparation, and with no sanctioning from the catholic church..... WOW

Ryan has written that he felt a Demonic followed him, but that remains to be seen. In any case, I like the fact that they DONT rely on scientific evidence most of the time, but the people, the home and stories. I actually enjoy it a little more than TAPS because they are so busy debunking evidence, they get nothing. They didnt get ONE piece of evidence in that Library last week, yet everyone else does. Its fine to "debunk" however when they see something or hear something Jay always says something to put it down and has to face the family stating they found NOTHING..At least PS takes action, researches, talks to neighbors and resolves the issue. I give them credit for that, why not? I took a shot of the infamous barn last night and got this..I see something, not sure if anyone else does..JN

See, that is exactly why I like TAPS. They do not go in looking for ghosts, they go in looking for a rational explantation for what is happening. Most of the other shows go in looking for ghosts, and find them when there aren't any there. An investigation should be scientifically based. How can any organization be taken seiously that uses "feelings" and "vibes" as evidence of a haunting. TAPS won't even use personal experiences, because they are not PROOF. Psychics and mediums claiming to communicate with or feel ghosts is not proof.

Its not proven if there is no evidence. Witness accounts are just that. A group of 6 ppl on my team all witnessed the same thing, but can we SHOW that to someone and say, this place is haunted. No. Personal experiences do not validate. You can suggest, based off of our personal experiences we feel you HAVE something, but no evidence to back it. However confirmation is not there.

Akaebeel
Jan 8 2008, 10:13 PM
And usually personal experience is used as a supportive theory to any evidence any team might acquire during their investigation.
If there is no evidence and purely personal experience, then it really cannot be classified and proof and nothing about the investigation can be proven. Though that doesn't stop some groups from proclaiming some place is haunted or not.
But that is why most groups have haunting classifications.

Well at least I'm not the only one completely annoyed by this show. I'm a big fan of Ghost Hunters, which I usually watch online. And since the new season hasn't started yet I picked up watching this show. I was kind of excited because Penn State is only 40 minutes from me and I am acquaintances with one of the girls on the show.
Needless to say I was pretty disappointed. I hate how they go into investigations automatically being like "Oh yeah it's haunted. And there's demons." And what's with the whole "we can't say the name of the demon, but we'll flash the letters real quick for ya" Lame. It's Belial if anyone hasn't figured it out. I also hate "dead time", how half the crew pussies out on every investigations, the stupid motion lights, the directors log, and how they never show a god damn picture or video of anything they capture. Just to name a few. Oh and I really can't take a medium seriously who's name is Chip Coffee...
I pretty much only watch this for the people's stories, and usually by the end I'm ready to punch the director. Hopefully the new season of Ghost Hunters starts soon.

I honestly suggest looking up people and groups in your area that investigate. Odds are, you'll find some evidence oriented people to come look. Just avoid any "psychics" and any one that asks for ANY money. (Unless they suggest gas money after they get there as a tip. Gas prices SUCK and a 50 mile trip would have me gritting MY teeth).

Hehehe. I like the comment about Chip Coffee. Although, from what I have heard, the "outsiders" they bring onto the show are supposed to be legitimate and have good reputations in this field. That is probably how the show got on the air, by somehow being able to bring in the big names. More dirty knees for Ryan.
Anyway, I am excited, because I just found out Ghost Hunters is in my town doing an investigation at Wright-Patt AFB!!! I've been waiting for someone to do that for a long time!! I've been trying to get my PI team in there, but after hearing about the hoops that TAPS had to jump through(all the way up to the Pentagaon) I don't see how we are going to be able to do it. See, now, if I had Ryan on my team, I'm sure he could find someone who could get us in there (referring back to the dirty knees thing again).

Ok, where am I? I swore I was in a forum where people believe in the paranormal. So why do you feel these shows have to have substantial evidence? WHO CARES? I don't need a "Ghost hunter" to tell me my house is haunted. I know it is. I don't need professional equipment brought in either. At least Paranormal State like to get some facts to back up what the person is saying about the haunting. Ghost Hunters (I do not like Jason-ewww) won't believe anything if they don't get anything on their cameras or recorders. Oh and by the way, I heard PS is already filming Season 2.

I like it too because they invest a great deal of time researching and "listening" the the clients, performing an investigation, and resolving the problem. I watched one where they spent 4 days!! TAPS investigates at night only, reviews evidence, debunks it and then leave..Thats my opinion..JN

I have watched both shows ps and ghosthunters they are both entertaining in their own way i guess the only problem i have with both is simply this whats with the need for so much case information and very very specific details to each case for example if you claim your house to be haunted or at least to be inhabited by something than what is the need to provide details like i saw a young girl or an old man in colonial clothing basically telling me what to see it would be so refreshing to see a show that basis investigations with no specific case details and for the finding to be varified by the claimant and the investigators through a truely neutral third party i do find ghost hunters to be more credible on the basis they are looking more to explain claimed activity to be a natural cause such as a loose window being blown by the wind as an unexplained banging noise where paranormal state wants to say every place is haunted but i guess thats why its called entertainment maybe we should form a group and start our own show i even have the opening statement "unexplained phenomenon you be the judge" lol

OK deb371970 and JustNormal you know from a fictional stand point the show is not bad. if they said it was fiction I would watch it all the time. but the simple fact it's not scientific and that only hurts the Paranormal community who are striving to prove the existents of a after life. most Paranormal researchers are true believers but believing is not enough for the scientific community and they know that. that is why groups like TAPS can't just go around saying a place is haunted with out irrefutable proof.
sorry I have to disagree with you two guys.
