Hi All, I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and I know I did, just wired from too much coffee. Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone else on here, hears a voice or voices coming from their computer speakers? I dont mean white noise, but a groan or moan? For a long time, even when I am in another room I hear a male type voice say something I cannot decipher, and because I have AOL I think its the voice that says "Youve Got Mail" but there is no mail, and not that many words are said. NO I am not delusional LOL we have all heard it..Just curious what all you hear, and from where? Thanks..JN-
Belle.

Hey - had a great Chrissy, glad you did too!
But no I don't think I have heard anything like that. We turn our speakers on and off and sometimes when I think they're off and they are only turned down low I hear noises and get scared! I jump out of my skin every time those horrid little pop up Smiley faces go "HELLOOO HELLLOOOO".

Hey Girl, thanks and SO happy you had a great Xmas, it was so much fun and SO tiring lol..I keep my speakers on medium, and when it happens I am not in a web site or messing around, it happens randomly and sometimes I am sitting at the pc and other times doing things around my place and I hear the voice. ICK..lol..I want to turn speakers off, but I work online and many times waiting for mail so have to hear when mail arrives...Leave it to me LOL>..JN

yeah, i have had that happen several times. I found out once it was picking up a tv program, and a couple times it was a radio talk show. don't know how, but it seems the comp can pick up the radio and tv signals sometimes.
usually lasts about a couple secs, long enough to hear some one say something, but not long enough to tell what. I only know it was the tv and radio, cause my nephew was watching a program, and when i went in to the other room the same guy was talking, and the radio guy is well known in the area and his voice was recognizable. I would assume the same thing is happening with your comp.

When I lived in the country, I used to pick up the cb radios from the truckers as they were passing by on my computer speakers, even if they were on very low. If they were talking. The road was only 40 feet or so in front of my house though.

That scares the *beep* outta me! and there's the "SAY SOMETHING" one

they need to die
Anyway, at my old house, on my old desktop computer I always kept the speakers off because I'd pick up radio reception, same with the phone there - I'd pick up phone conversations clear as anything. But that's about it.

Hi (((JN))) glad your holidays went well....In my old house, this would happen once in awhile, where muffled voices would come over my speakers....We later learned that there was a "ham" operator in the neighborhood, had one of those huge towers, and assumed it was coming from there....When he moved, the tower was knocked down (ugly thing), and no more voices....Hasn't happened since, but I rarely keep my speakers on....

It's quite common for speakers to pick up radio waves.
Most of the time they can be distorted and sound strange.
Perfectly normal.

Even besides radio waves, sometimes computer speakers do that buzzing thing when a cell phone is about to ring. My work computer's speakers make so much noise cause there is so much going on in this office, all kinds of cellphones and stuff. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
Happy After-Christmas!

I used to be able to hear my mobile checking in with the network through my old pc's speakers, if they were turned on. It was like an electronic chook, bup bup, bup bup bup.

I am not surprised with hearing this information. For I myself have heard things from time to time come out of my speakers that isn't just the normal media. I believe my friend has also brought this concern to me as well. I do believe that it is a form of EVP but it's more or less uncontrolled. For example if I was trying to record it or the scene then it would be a controlled moment but since this just happens randomly I consider it uncontrolled white noise.

I don't understand it too well so bear with me here... I knew a guy once that was really into this stuff. He set up a system in his attic that was illegal because it was too powerful and could interfere with signals in surrounding houses. So whoever it is might be sneaky sneaky.
I had this problem when we lived close to our city's transit headquarters. It came over our stereo speakers even when the stereo was off, and it was
seriously loud. Nothing like laying on the couch reading on a peaceful afternoon and having your stereo turn on full blast with bus directions to make you shoot through the ceiling.

My guess is that you're hearing bits of badly programmed flash advertisements on websites. I keep my speakers off unless I'm listening to music, because sites like Myspace and Yahoo have flash ads, and out of nowhere they will do a wail, or a cartoon, or a gimmick game that has sound effects, and it's annoying.

Disclaimer: I didn't read all the posts.
I once had a problem where cable TV was bleeding over into my computer via my cable modem, and I could hear voices in my bedroom where the computer was. Freaked me out for weeks til I finally realized one day what I was hearing so faintly was a TV commercial with a catchy jingle I recognized.

if the speaker cable is wrapped around power cords, that also causes problems.
Power cables causes data and information to 'leak', especially from phone lines.

JN this is actually happening with my PC right now . I asked in a thread here about it in computer help . as it was really winding me up not being able to find the source . I was advised to try a virus and trojan check . I did and at frst couldnt find anything but now ive installed a better virus checker it has located the problem and its coming from a trojan . that i now have to remove . so maybe you should try the same if this is still occuring .
