Me and my family believe that this house is haunted. Mostly because we hear footsteps and noises that can't be explained. And that eerie feeling of being watched. This small amount of activity doesn't bother us.

Things in this house tend to disappear. Things like books, toothbrushes, CDs and even a cell phone. These things disappeared from my sister's room, the stairs, the kitchen and my room. That is the places with most "paranormal" activity. We are 100% sure that no one was in the house at the time when these things disappeared because we always keep our doors locked and no one can come in through the windows.

My questions are
Can ghosts steal? Why do they do that?

The answer to that is YES they do take things, but usually move them to a place you would never think of looking, or they just show up, out of the blue. But I dont believe they take them permanently, only humans would do that type of thing. I have had things missing as well, and some I never found, but at some point I hope they will show up. They basically take things that are sort of important to those they belong to, simply to make themselves known or for attention. Human spirits can do it, as can Poltergeists and the list goes on. Are there any teens in the home? JN

EDIT: I love House!

Yea it can be a sign that you have something going on, what it is exactly is hard to say as spirits/entities could be playing around or something else a shifting. It might help to look into the terms of Apport and Asport as well -

Apport

QUOTE
An apport is the transference of an article from an unknown source, to you, or another place by unknown means.[1] The item can be anything, from coins and jewellery from ancient times, to modern objects such as watches and keys.

Asport

QUOTE
Conversely, an asport is the transference of a small object from a known location to an unknown location via unknown means

Well, my daughter and I would joke around about our "fairy". We could leave things on the counter, and it would go missing. We would either find them in really weird place, or after searching, we would find the missing object ( usually keys) back on the counter. This really freaked out my friend who put her keys on our counter. We were going to go out and she couldn't find the keys. Her, my daughter and me looked all over for them. And we walked by the counter numerous times. All of a sudden, she found them sitting right int he middle of the counter. We laughed about it, but she was freaked. I don't see how three of us could have overlooked them sitting in the middle of the counter with nothing else around them.....

I just called it a fairy so as not to scare my daughter. She has seen ghosts since she was little, just like I have. A fairy has a much nicer sound to it than a ghost to little ones. Although, when I was little, my imaginary friend was a small man who would come ant talk and play with me in my place in the trees.

I have things that disapear sometimes to but I never considered that ghosts were involed, I just chalked it up to me misplacing things.

What is it about keys I wonder? Most of the time when I read these kinds of stories, it's keys that are missing.

I went on a little ghost hunt a couple of weeks ago. It's a little old lady who lives in a shoe grin2.gif j/k. She lives in a really big old house and she keeps having problems with, well the usual, doors slamming shut, windows opening and closing by themselves, hearing voices etc. etc.
I came into her living room and sat down on her sofa while she poured me some tea. I laid my keys, which are the black box type key for the car (which I loathe and despise) with my business keys attached, on the end table about a foot away from me.
I sit there and drink my tea, while she tells me what's going on in the house. I'm thinking that she's just lonely and afraid about living in this huge house, but I nod politely and we set up a time for me to come and investigate. I reach for my keys and they are gone!
I was sitting there the entire time. We searched all around and back outside to the car, even though I knew I'd left them on that table. When I went back in the house to call my husband to bring me the spare, there were my keys, sitting on that little table where I'd left them. Bizarre!

That happens to me all the time. It's kind of like when people run around the house looking for their glasses and they've been on their head all along.

Not me! whistling2.gif w00t.gif LOL!

But, seriously, I would put things down and they would appear in a different place. And there were a few times that I KNOW that niether me nor my daughter put them there. It hasn't happened for a while, but I'm waiting....

This happens in my house all the time. It gets so bad that sometimes I will just say loudly "Please put (whatever's missing) on the table. I need it." Creepy thing is the missing object usually turns up in a very obvious place shortly after.

When my son was little, he had a favorite toy that was a little army man. This toy was *Constantly* disappearing and reappearing. It was so frequent that I would tell my son that his little man was off on an army mission. I didn't want him to be afraid of ghosts or whatever was causing the disappearances. I know my son was not placing his man around because sometimes I would find the little man in the middle of a previously empty table while my son was away at school.

LOL I know, me too. We can put down something, which others see, leave the room, come back and POOF it is gone. Ultimately we find them in strange strange places, while looking for something else LOL..Still cannot find my reading glasses so thank goodness I have another pair. Its crazy I tell you!! lol... yes.gif

After Christmas Dinner we put left overs in the fridge and the next morning there was a pie, cool whip, and spoons on the table but none of the pie was taken haha. My mother and I said it was dad paying us a visit-- this is our first christmas without him.
Emmerson
We always thought all these things was still in the house somewhere but over the past years we made several repairs in almost every room. And when doing this we have looks for the things that disappeared but we never found them. I think we have a few cases of apports as well but I can't think of any.

Yes, there are two teens .
TRPS-TECH

blink.gif Whoa creepy.....I have not had that happen yet....darn!
TRPS-TECH
Yeah it is scary when they move things at first , but it is something to experience first hand . ut after a few times it can get quite annoying . I honestly think that one particular entity follows us to different locations , because it does the same thing to the exact same equipment . I guess it is kinda cool because it seems like it is playing with us , not trying to scare us .

if you are a Hose lover, then you should make him and daddy proud by looking at all the other possible things it could be beside a ghost. if you lose stuff in the house...idk...you could of misplaced it instead of blaming a ghost. and houses makes noises, i know ever now and then i hear paper shredding and a tv on when there is nothing around. but that is just your brain hating slience. as for your whole family hearing these noises like i said house makes noises.

p.s. i love House too. i just to have him as my avator, but well now....yeah.

yes I would agree with the mind trick thing if the cameras were not turned on and 3 other people witnesses it , and as for things shutting off , yes batteries do die , things can come unplugged but when they are visible to you and you can see buttons being pushed , I would have to say that is ONE HECK of a mind game !

Watchful
I always try now to ask to put things back what is missing. And for some reason, sooner than later sometimes, the things do show up. Though it's hard to tell if this is the case in the house I live in now. Down in Jersey, I think it was very common. Even next door, one neighbor friend said she lost a Mickey Mouse watch and some money that she never was able to find when her family moved. I believe I have not been able to find a sippy cup my son had at the time, and I try to find all of them so I can clean them. Lots of times there was usually milk in them. There is still one sippy cup I have been unable to find, before we did move out of our house. There was milk still left inside! blink.gif
