i tried evp last night and the recorder picked up a dog bark which baffled me because i don't own a dog.i then turned over the tape to record the otherside, just in case i taped over this bark.i then recorded once again and the machine picked up the same bark , Then a voice of a woman said "be quiet" the voice was clear, nothing left to the imagination. i have rattled my brain to explain it but i can't find one. to be honest i did not expect anything. this had taken place at 2am.

sure you can. I am having a huge brain fart right now due to being sick, but I know for a fact you can upload tape recordings to your pc. Not through the usb, but by using a ear to mic cord I can't remember what its actually called.
MasterPo can further assist you.

Are you serious? It's that easy! That means you guys can hear the singing from the graveyard investigation in September!
I'll call my niece in the morning and see if she still has the tape!
Why didn't you tell me this before???

i have my theory as to what evp's are. tho im knew at them myself. i believe it has to do with "time". conversations/sounds i beleive get caught in some kind of time-trap. the voices stay in the same area for many many years and at certain right times, when say certain things come together just so, then the evps will be heard. i dont think the dead are trying to comuicate at all. but of course this is just my opinon. i do know that ghost/spirits and such are real, so im not saying that evp's are impossible. i sure would like to hear your evp. yours truely ruebarbt

You'll also need some kind of audio editing software to clean up the static and such. Converting an analog recording onto your computer can distort the sound quality. But many people use older analog recorders as they have a tendency to pick up more interference that can considered EVP's.
You simply plug in one end into the headphone jack of your analog recorder, the other end into your microphone or inline jack of your computer. You can pick these cords up at Radioshack for 6-10 bucks.
A free audio editing program is called Audacity, it has a bit of a learning curve, but if you use it, it'll automatically save the file under a .wav format. But there are a lot of people that use Windows Sound Recorder instead. Because it's easier.

Well seems that you may have figured out why your dog has been acting weird and now you know your not crazy ! If you can get it on your computer and have it checked out , odds are you will probably find alot more of them when the files are cleaned up !

I've always got the smell of sweet perfume or some type of flower, and none of that is present in the room I sit in...But other things follow that smell and that's when I know I am being visited.

Same her , I usually get perfume or a musty , burning rubber smell !
As for the original poster , have you noticed any weird smells , cold spots or any weird electrical issues ? Especially things with batteries .
