Well i told Electra about this and tonight I told someone else and they said I should share it. This is just a little something that happened and maybe it was nothing but all positive comments are welcome-- notice I said positive. If you don't believe it, fine-- but anyways here we go--


My father died in February of this year and I have started having dreams about him, which is not uncommon I am sure. So recently, I decided to chat with him in the dream and see if I could recieve some guidance about things going on in my life. So I managed to do this, and my father (Who I add is 1/3 Cherokee Indian, my mothers half Cherokee and I'm proud to be a half breed-- kinda) advised me about a few things, then gave me a message. he pointed to a field and said "Watch for the fox."

That was confusing, until the next night--

Thursday I went out for a drive with a guy I had met once during summer. Of course things didnt work out well and so we didnt work out but then out of the blue-- he sent me an email. So while out driving, we encountered a fox... like a BIG ass fox in the middle of business 85. Sure foxes are nothing new in NC-- but I had this weird feeling. He looked at me and goes, "Could that be a sign?"

I kinda freaked... then a bit later ANOTHER fox crossed the road, and when I got home there were two eating dog food on my back step. Which I'm not overly shocked about, Shippo and Kagone have been eating dog food out of a butter dish since summer when Shippo LICKED my toe while I was meditating in the field beside my house.

A bit freaked I came inside and turned on the TV, and there-- was-- a fox.........

My spirit guide is a wolf, so I'm not sure why suddenly all these fox references came up. I really thing my dad might be telling me he likes this dude... cause a few other things came up too. Anyways, just thought I'd share that. Its probably a huge coincidense, but it made me feel special, like I connected with my dad.


Anyone else had this happen?

I would think it depends on what the fox depicts in the Cherokee culture. Does it have a significant meaning? I don't know if it's rooted in Indian lore or not, but we tend to associate the fox as being sly, sneaky or tricky. If seeing all the foxes is a sign, perhaps you might want to consider whether it's a good sign or a bad one. What your dad said could be taken as a warning as well. I would suggest it better to be safe than sorry. See if you can find out the importance of a Fox in your heritage, as well as reflect on whatever happened in the past between you and this guy. Was there a significan reason why stuff didn't work out when you originally met? Etc I would imagine that if your dad was going to send you a message, it would be an important one, so make any effort you can to understand its significance. The obvious is that the fox sign has to do with this old acquaintance of yours. But in what way, that is for you to figure out.

To the best of my knowledge (I'm part Lakota Sioux myself) the fox represents cunning, intelligence, and provision or assistance toward others. I've also heard references toward foxes being a symbol of life and health. It definitely sounds as though your father was trying to send you a message. I would look at the fox as a good sign overall. What you think the sign is in reference to is, of course, completely up to you. Since you said you meditate, you may want to do so with this question in mind and see if you get any more information. One way or another, it's wonderful that your father was able to communicate with you through your dream and then follow it up with such clarity. I'm glad that you were in touch with your dad, and I'm certain it won't be the last time either.

Edit: I just did a bit more research. It turns out that while the fox most often has positive connotations, some tribes regarded the fox as a trickster, so if you feel that the reference is toward the new man in your life...take it slow, you never know.

I beleive that it was a sign as well...I don't beleive in coincidenses...lol. Anyhow.......I am so Happy too hear that you had a connection with your father. Maybe the fox was sent from your father too watch over you. Or just a away to let you know that it WAS a sign...lol. Foxes are beatuiful, cunning, sly, and intellegent creatures. Foxes can be tricksters....but use it for survival...so it is definatley possitive.

like the post earlier I would say it is definatel a sign , but I would find out what kind of cultural meaning it has in your family

Hello, it is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. I am Espiritu Varma, and am new to this site. I think the answer to your question is that it is more likely than not coincidence. From what you said in your post, foxes in your area are not at all unusual. What may be transpiring is that the dream you had with/about your father was touching and meaningful to you (obviously), and that these run-ins with the foxes and your reaction to said encounters not long after this dream gave an exciting feeling of "maybe he was trying to tell me something". Here's a suggestion.....
Record.....
On the computer or on a pad of paper, or whatever writing implements and aids you can find, record the dreams you have with/about your father, or maybe any dreams at all. Write down not only the descriptive details, but also the time (if able) and date that they were had. From this one experience, I cannot say that it was a blessed call from the spiritual realms. But if these events happen consistently, on many occasions, you may have something.
And finally, remember these key facts when you're recording and encountering experiences:
Are these valid interpretations to my dreams?
Am I sure that I am not just far-fetching?
Do these coincidences happen often?
Am I neglecting all bias in my evaluation and interpretation?
If you answer yes to these questions...the spirits may be communing with you. But regardless, doing this may perhaps help you feel closer with your father, and be a healing force for your soul, essence, and being.

I want to thank everyone for the comments and such, it was really sweet. I did some research of the fox to my heritage and everyone was right. The fox represents cunning, wisdom, silent obsevation, persistence, gentleness, and family guidance. A fox is well known for guiding hunters away from its family and being able to meld into whatever shape they neeed to in order to survive. All that made absolute sense to me as I read it in regards to my dad and what I have been through this year.

One thing my mother brought up was spirit guides, and the fact that my father used the sign of the fox as his spirit guide. Therefore, it may be his way of guiding me the right way, watching over me and her as she has seen the references to.


Anyways, I believe it was a good sign and that maybe I have a little help being guided through this next year.

There are many ways to interpret these things, but from what you said, my take on this is to caution you against reading too much into this. By no means am I dismissing the significance. I personally believe this is one way those that have crossed over* communicate with us. I see this experience as simple validation. that you are communicating with him. I would resist interpretations such as "oh, this means he likes the guy I'm with." That is certainly putting your needs onto the experience. Unless there is more than you have not shared about this guy's connection to your dream, you might just as well have interpreted it as "my father likes that I'm driving a Honda."
The validation you received is a big deal in itself. Many people would give something on the right side of their body to have such an experience. I, for one, certainly envy you your ability to have such vivid dreams, remember them, but mostly your conscious and purposeful interaction with them. Congratulations on such a thrilling experience.

*I wish there was another term for this that didn't have the association it has.

Just curious hun. Do you know if your father's spirit guide was a fox?

My father passed in February as well. My condolences. It's coming up on a year now and it seems like yesterday.

It always seems to be like yesterday isn't it? As for his spirit guide, my father was the kind of person who was on the fence about Native Americans and paranormal, UFO's-- but he was endlessly facinated with them. He never came out and said that his spirit guide was a fox but I believe it was. I believe he connected with his spirtual self after he passed over and now he's connecting through his guide-- the fox.

Well then, there you go! LUCKY!!!!!

Thats when it clicked to me that he was indeed connecting. My mother and father had some issues that were unresloved in the past before he passed, and I believe this is his way of guiding us as he didn't do while alive if that makes sense.
