I read some bad reviews for it and alot of people not liking it, but I finally watched it on Blu Ray and thought it was the best of the 3. It was much darker than the first and it's a bit surprising that Disney released the movie like it is, it was pretty violent as well. The action was awesome I love the sword fights and the sea battles as well as the humor, it was a great rollercoaster ride. I liked the scene to where they tip over the pirate ship by racing back and forth, it was like something out of a terry gilliam movie and the twists and turns the story was great. Maybe some people didn't see the first two or something and they didn't know what was going on? awesome movie in my book.

I loved this movie!!

I thought it was awful. The script wasn't anywhere near as strong as the first. It was all effects, no substance. Please don't compare this crap to Gilliam tongue.gif

I wasn't comparing the whole film just that one tiny scene

I guess it's just different opinions Matt. I loved the first two, but didn't like this one. Really, didn't like it. thumbdown.gif
I didn't watch the first two right before this one, so it took me half the movie, to remember who everyone was, and what they were supposed to be doing. (which is a good sign that you liked it more, because you're smarter than me grin2.gif ) Once I figured that out, I knew ahead of time what was going to happen next. Nothing was a surprise.
I fell asleep during the whirlpool scene, took a tidy nap, and woke up while they were still doing the whirlpool scene.
One of these days, I will watch all three back to back, and see if it changes my opinion any.
I'm really glad that you enjoyed it!!!

I didn't like the third pirates movie mostly because it heavily relied to much on action and special effects.

This is like the Robocop first movie starts out great, second movie not as good and the third movie complete crap.

You know I think that the whole "everything's a slimey dreary mess" got really old after a while.

I mean how in God's name am I supposed to believe he's gonna love miss Black Teeth Calypso? Eww.

In addition Keith Richard's appearance was wasted. There's this thing they do about piling on more and more and more which just makes it seem like an overdone mess.

The first too were a lot more tongue in cheek I think.
