New Brunswick, N.J. - Police say harried parents packed for a trip mistakenly left their 6-month-old baby at a New Jersey train station, each thinking the other had infant.
The baby was left in a stroller on the platform of the New Brunswick station Saturday when the parents boarded the train, each carrying luggage.
As the train pulled out at about 6:30 a.m., the parents saw the baby wasn't on board and notified a conductor, who called police, who kept watch on the baby until the father could get off at the next stop and take a cab back to fetch the baby, said New Brunswick police.
The baby was unharmed and no charges were filed against the parents.

I'm glad they had enough sense to call the authorities to keep watch over the baby.....Next time they travel, they must remember, baby first, luggage last.......

I never thought I would forget a kid, but I had my niece once, she was about 3, and I went to play racquetball..she was in the kiddy coral with the sitter...Well when we were done, my girlfriend and I walked outside and I kept saying how I thought i forgot something....Well I did, it was my niece..We hadn't left yet, but it was a very weird feeling, even knowing she was right there....

I've actually ahd nightmares about forgetting to pick up my daughter from school. I woke up in a big panic. I couldn't imagine it happening in real life.

The parents are idiots. Some people shouldn't have kids.

Indeed some people should not. I know this was a case where the parents were in a hurry and forgot to pack the kid on the train but we read about stuff like this all the time. I get more pissed off when I hear about some douche bag leaving their babies in the car while shopping or tanning but this bugs me a bit too.

I'm glad nothing happened to the baby. My mother once locked her keys, purse, and my younger brother in the car after she brought the groceries she had just purchased into the house. Needless to say, panic ensued until the locksmith got there. I still tease her about it to this day.

I can only imagine how guilty the parents feel about forgetting the poor lil one. Lesson learnt?

I'm sorry, but I feel no sympathy. These people were idiots. There is NO excuse for forgetting your child on a train platform.

That's what I was thinking too... but it does sound like they really did just make a mistake... they must have felt horrible. It could have been way worse.

I actually think it was probably a genuine mistake as the article states each though the other had the baby . still poor little mite . im glad hes okay
I do remember this happening to my aunt . she had just took her son out in his buggy for the first time he was around three days old . she took him to te post office and parked his pram near the sweet counter while she queued in the long line as it was busy she finally got served and just walked out without him . It wasnt until walking around the next shop that she remembered him LOL i do think she was a bit dumb but being a new mum and not used to having a pram in tow and the fact she cried all day at the time because of her guilt, we let her off LOL but ive never forgotton mine yet so i think i leared a lesson from her .

Well, look at the bright side; the kid's got leverage against his parents for the rest of his life
