Angel/Devil
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has heard of the legend of 'Black Agnes'? In the legend, a woman called Agnes loved a soldier in WW2. He didn't return her love so she commited suicide. Apperently, if you look into her eyes at the stroke of midnight she will kill you by 'piercing your heart' like the person she loved did to her. I think it is quite similar to the 'Bloody Mary' legend and is proberly one of those things to scare kids...
Does anyone know where 'Black Agnes' is supposed to be?
Cheers xx

I came up with this in a search:

Black Agnes

A timeless urban legend is the cemetery statue that comes to life. In Druid Ridge Cemetery, Maryland, there once stood a life-size bronze statue of indeterminate gender, a mourning, robed figure. Eerie tales were told - one, that a young woman, on a dare, spent the night in the cemetery, only to be found in the morning, dead in the lap of the statue, crushed by a superhuman grip. It was said that the statue, which became known as Black Agnes, opened its eyes at night, and they glowed red. Eventually, due to its notoriety, the statue was moved to an undisclosed site.

and a Snopes link about Black Agnes.

Pretty sweet stories there!

There was a Dead Famous episode here in the UK where Gail Porter and Chris Flemming went to the Black Aggie statue in the middle of the night and did some experiments, I'd look for it on Youtube but I can remember which celebrity they were researching - it might have been Buddy Holly?

Regardless, the statue was really creepy, but I don't think she did anything out of the ordinary on this occassion. It was interesting hearing them talk about the legend in front of it though.

I dont have any info on this statue but I did find a youtube video with footage of the statue. It starts at about 40sec in, nothing remarkable though.

I wish there was a better video that talked more about the statue itself.
