When I woke up in the morning, I used to say this everyday,
"Today my life truly begins and I make my own way"
A miracle wont happen no matter how long I wait,
All it really did was fill my heart with hate,
I grew up with an angry and hatred filled soul,
I had so many dreams but could never reach my goal,
I would still go back in time if I knew I could,
To make myself heard and understood,
And be that better person like I know I should,
And I had to stop crying myself to sleep,
It came to the point I needed to dig deep,
But the days went by and I still made mistakes,
I had to rectify before it was too late,
Each breath takes me closer to death,
Till I'm finally put in my grave and left to rest,
This is not a bad dream and I wont wake up soon,
But then I look up to the heavens, see the stars and the moon,
And it makes me wonder that though I'm just a man,
This life is mine and I am what I am,
And what I am is what I truly choose to be,
And what I truly choose is for me to be free,
One day I'll look back and smile at my quest,
Cry tears of joy knowing I did my best,
My journey will now soon come to an end,
I thank you for listening my dear friend.
