QUOTE (BlindMessiah @ Jan 2 2008, 03:33 PM)

What if, all those hundreds of years of research, and studies, and conclusions, that scientists have made, were true? Let's just say, that God didn't create life, and evolution did it. Please stick with me here. And for the sake of the argument, let's assume, that the earth, is in fact, not a living organism. What kind of implications, could this have for our planet? Purely hypothetical question.
As I see it, we would have exactly the same world we have today. Nothing would change. The world may actually be exactly as your statement intends.* People will still believe their various beliefs. People do. For example, I have observed that even when scientific evidence disproves a particular belief, there are those that argue that this very evidence was put there to test their faith.
Now, if the question were what if everyone in the world believed the parameters of your What If, then I suspect we’d have far more suicides. Some require such beliefs in order for their lives to have meaning.
*I see this may have been a hypothetical in jest, but since some took your words literally, instead of simply responding to the basic intent of the premise, I decided to actually address it as though I was unaware of the previous "What If's."
