Ok I know this is my first post and all but I really just felt like I needed to put this up here.
In the past year I have been noticing something very strange when I am lying in bed at night and cant sleep. What happens is I will turn over and while doing that I will look down around the covers and I will actually see a flashing dot or two, usually white but just last night I saw green. This has happened on multiple occasions and a few months ago I asked my dad who is very into spiritual and metaphysical things because I was concerned with what it was. I don't remember much of what he said because it was so long ago but I am pretty sure he told me that they where good spirits. Now before anyone trys to tell me that they were just reflections I want to tell you that I sleep in pitch black usually with the blinds and covers over the windows and there aren't any electronics on when this happens, so there is no way that there is any light in the room.
Now the reason that I posted this is because I want to see more opinions on this, especially after what happened last night. So last night I looked down and moved my knee up so I could turn over and I saw three green flashing lights go up my knee, they were not simultaneous, but one after the other. It actually gave me the chills to the point that I got up and walked to the other side of the room for about a minute (haha, I know, it was just so strange at the time). I really don't know why it freaked me out so much because I had been seeing bigger white ones a few minutes earlier.
I hope someone can tell me what it is, although I am not really that worried about it, I just want to know what it is.
Thanks.
MasterPo
Sounds like static electricity.

Strange I've been hearing about these flashing dots, even thought I saw one myself but my TV was on so I wasn't sure. I'd like to think their spirits here to watch over us, but it could be a problem with the light refracting from our retnas or something.

Hello, Welcome to UM..I see those too and have for a very long time. Those are orbs, they are white flashes that move fast, and then disappear, and sometimes I see them land somewhere. I was told they were spirits visting, and to be honest, I believe that..I have actually taken pics of them in the day and evening and followed them and taken pics of them and they do move fast. They are harmless and sort of comforting, not to worry. If you have any deceased loved ones, I think they are just stopping by, and rather than scare you, they just fly around to watch over you. I have seen one green and one blue thats it. Blue is known as the healing orb, which is nice. Not to worry, its pretty common now..JN yes.gif

Ah, thank you! Thats one of the things I thought it was. Its really interesting to see them.
I am hoping that one of them is my grandfather who passed a few years ago. But whats really interesting about that is when he died we shot off some fireworks for him and right after that we saw a shooting star. Its really interesting stuff.

Sounds like static electricity.

I second that. During dry winter nights, your clothes rubbed against the fabric of your sheets/blankets, thus creating an electrostatic charge. Happened to me quite often, especially during the winter, when the room is dry with little humidity.

Static electricity is usually caused when certain materials are rubbed against each other, like wool on plastic or the soles of shoes on carpet. The process causes electrons to be pulled from the surface of one material and relocated on the surface of the other material.

A static shock occurs when the surface of the second material, negatively charged with electrons, touches a positively-charged conductor.

I've had this too - usually out of the corner of my eye, there's probably about 5-6 of them, very small and they come and go very fast.

Cool, I see them a great deal of the time, dead on. By the time I got to take a pic, poof its gone, at least in the bedroom anyway. I see them while watching television and if I look at any of my birdies they are looking too. Makes me wonder just WHAT do they see? LOL..JN

I agree that it could be static electricity. I have had this happen to me many times. Even more so in very fluffy cotton nightwear. Rereading your post, I noticed you mentioned you see the lights after you moved. Meaning, it could be the friction from the movement of your clothing on your sheets, like someone earlier mentioned. I would think the different colors could be from the color of the material of your clothing and sheets.

Add my vote to the static electricity explanation.

I have had it happen to me in various seasons. Friction is a killer!

I would love to agree Watchful, however I posted an orb that I followed around the livingroom, and my birdies saw it too. I would say Orbs, Sylvia Brown said they are angels LOL

O.k. so a few months ago, you asked your dad about something that you were really concerned about, but a few months is such a long time that you forgot what he said, even though you were really concerned about it, but you are pretty sure that he told you they were good spirits. Am I getting this right?
