I go quiet.

The alter at which I worship changes from day to day. Sometimes it’s a mountain or a valley, sometimes it’s a field or a forest. It is bejeweled with water in the form of great rivers and gentle streams, sometimes even lakes and oceans as well as glorious falls. The decorations that adorn it are made from every kind of rock and gems imaginable and are guarded by mighty oaks and giant cedars as well as the smallest of blooms. It is the source of all life I have ever known and reminds me daily that they are made with love and care, as I am to.
Being a Christian I can practice my faith without ever setting foot in a church door. The church was turned into a business with a political agenda instead of a fellowship of worshipers.
The Church is a spiritual body, not a man-made organization (1 Peter 2:5). No city or organization is the mandated place of worship (John 4:20-24).
Worship is to be thankful for all God has done in my life and around me. It is not for reward or gain but an appreciation of generosity and love.
It is simply the highest form of “Thank You”

I usually go to my familys ranch, drive up into the hills where it's so peaceful and quiet. Or I take a drive into the mountains, I have a fav spot that is basically my heaven on earth. Great place to be alone and just meditate.

The closest I have come to feeling close to a god was the moment the doctor laid my newborn daughter on my chest and she looked at me with those age-old eyes infants have.

Your post reminds me of this Pink Floyd song. The glorious, beautiful outdoors is my church .

"Icy wind of night be gone this is not your domain"
In the sky a bird was heard to cry.
Misty morning whisperings and gentle stirring sounds
Belied the deathly silence that lay all around.

Hear the lark and harken to the barking of the dog fox
Gone to ground.
See the splashing of the kingfisher flashing to the water.
And a river of green is sliding unseen beneath the trees
Laughing as it passes through the endless summer
Making for the sea.

In the lazy water meadow I lay me down.
All around me golden sun flakes settle on the ground.
Basking in the sunshine of a bygone afternoon
Bringing sounds of yesterday into this city room.

I absolutely love me some Pink Floyd, and that song fits perfectly.

Lovely picture, Darkwind.

I find an animal who'll tolerate me and we'll hang out for a while. Wild ones are scarce right now, although a goshawk is wintering over in the nearby woods. She is very impressive, and she knows it original.gif . Domesticated animals are fine, too.

Out in the woods or to a lake nearby my house.

As close to nature as possible.

I go where ever I am.

Although, the plain little meeting house we hold our Meetings in for "church" is really nice. It's plain, warm, quiet, it's even tucked away in a little stand of trees.

But really, I don't go anywhere special.
