Ok....so sometimes I get blank e-mails...ie: No Sender, No Subject, and No Message....and yet they're quite hefty...(some are up to 124kb!).....other times, I get e-mails that aren't even addressed to me....I would chalk this up to SPAMers, but sometimes I get legit e-mails that belong to someone else.....once I got one that was meant for ColinPowel@AOL.com...was some rant about the war and some other stuff. Lastly, sometimes instead of going to my inbox...messages will go to my bulk mail....why does this happen? I've gotten e-mails from these people before, but every so often they don't go to the inbox....oh I just remembered, sometimes I get e-mails late...several days late. Does anyone know why any of this happens?

You'd best be asking these questions to whoever your email provider is. Most of the larger ones, especially AOL if that's who you are using, have large technical staffs that can provide you with answers.

OK. Unfortunantly I work as a Internet tech and customer service worker. So I am going to grab my 2 Gal. coffee cup; put on my headphones, and tell you what I tell the poor customer who calls because they can't get their email from their dating club.

First of all though they look like real emails, 99% of all crap like that is spam. There is usually either a attachment or a link for you to click on (AND I WARN YOU BY ALL THAT IS HOLY DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT!!!!!!!!!!! OPEN ANY ATTACHMENTS FROM SPAM EMAILS!!!!!) the links are generally either for a bigger d*ck, for prozac ( after 200 calls I am just about ready to look into those),viagra, or porno. The reason they sometimes go to your bulk probably has to do with the way your message rules are set up (are you running Outlook express,Outlook, or Netscape Communicator?) for most email client programs go to the TOOLS tab; then MESSAGE RULES; then click on the MAIL tab that comes up. this will allow you to see what you r message rule are set to and configure them.

Well, I'm talking about my Yahoo account, and the e-mails that go to the bulk folder are usually e-mails from my cousin and UnEx Forum topic reply alerts. On a good day they'll all go straight to the inbox...but sometimes they go to the bulk mail. See...I'd aggree about the ones not addressed to me being SPAM, but they never have links or anything..just little blurbs like...Are we still on for Friday? Can you show me around town? One time I got one that HAD to be directed at me cause the guy told me where he lived and commented on how near we lived to each other....then he asked what kind of car I drive...after responding..he never said anything again. I don't know...maybe Yahoo's Daemons don't like me.

Lets see there has to be some way to find out the properties of those emails. Yous see if you can pull up those you can find out where they are comin from. It could be that the people sending the the unaddressed ones are merely trying to find out if your address is a valid address so they can spam the hell out of you.

If you switch your header view to full you should be able to see the path the emails took in I.P address form.

Odd.....when I did that on Yahoo...nothing came up...but when I forward it to myself.....

Now the question is whither or not any of the address info is at all familiar to you. If not I would highly suggest never responding to those emails again. For what spammers often do is send out large numbers of emails to various addresses trying to find currently used addresses which they can send their messages to. I would also say that you should block those addresses from your email.

Ive seen anonymouse email programs out there that say they can hide all your info from the recipiant, if this is the case then the senders have something to hide, and the attachments wont be wishing you christmas cheer!

What I fantasize about doing to Spammers. (Just double click them with a .45 and they'll go away)
