That's so sad. crying.gif

That is sad.
What's even sadder is that the photographer did not pick the child up and bring it to the food camp 1km away - and if that is not possible make sure the child would get food or help.
But apparently he commited suicide three months later.

Edit: I have just read, that he apparently waited 20 minutes, hoping the vulture would fly away. HOW can anybody stand there for 20 minutes, while a child is about to die due to lack of food?? And how can you leave after seeing this?
If this photograph makes grown men cry, how come the reality didn't make him do something?

Oh, and it seems his suicide was largely related to money worries, not only war impressions.

How could you not pick that child up and help? Horrible. I sincerely hope that the story about the photographer is an urban legend. It boggles the mind to think that someone could be that cold and heartless.

Very sad, You don;'t suppose Man Had anything to do with this do ya.

Heavenly Father did save that Child, because we didn't.
That baby is now in heaven being Loved because we could not afford to do it down here.

stick the blame wher it really belongs!

How was your dinner tonight?

I hope that pic Makes headlines around the world.

The opening post should have read Man fu_king Let this child starve to death, by waiting For God to save him.

You should be ashamed.

Not the fault of the Gods or the photographer it is the fault of mankind in general. We are supposed to care for each other, but all the money in the world get sucks into new and better ways to kill each other.

The bottom line for me is that if god existed he would have the power to do anything. After all he created a Universe and everything in it. He could if he chose easily save the baby. He (if he were real) did in effect know about the suffering, would have been able to feel it himself, have total knowledge of the incident yet did nothing and all the believers have to say for this disgraceful inaction is "It's not His fault".

It causes a bit of a dilemma for the believers really doesn't it? I mean you need an excuse to sort out the problem of the omnipotent god who sits back and watches suffering. Maybe He finds it entertaining?

Don't be an Idiot. No one is evolving. Humans are all human. And how does people starving to death because American corperations would rather have them grow grain which they are not allowed to eat have anything to do with Evolution?

If you want to stop this, all you have to do is Stop eating so much. Honest.

Let me break something down to you here, you blame GOd, but i blame man. You see the african continent is one of the best place on earth for agriculture, yet its the poorest or one of the poorest conitents, its inhabitants are poor, even the farmers who produce some of the best products in africa will never get the same for a bag of wheat lets say, than america would get for a bag of wheat grown in america, this could apply to all western countries. The econimic system in the world is bias, and serves the rich, they get richer and poor get more poor. The countries are always paying off intrest with the earnings and cannot develop at the same pace as us.

The system is unfair, for example, according to the UN, 80% of the population is in the third world, and 20% in the rest, this 20% consumes 80% of the earths produce and resources and the other 20% is used by the rest of the world population in the third world, where is the justice. Also colonialism played its part, we raped these countries of their natural resource and installed dictators to serve our agendas, and increase our wealth here in the west. Now you tell me, we greedy over wieght monsters in the west, look at these pictures and shed a tear, but a day or later will consume at a rate which is not even needed, we waste more than the rest too. Where is the justice, you blame God, when judgment arrives, he will say, did i not give you wealth and means to help, what did you do with your wealth, you dint bring it with you and neither will help you when you die, we are accountable for these children dying, we are the ones who dont do anything or change our ways, dont blame god, just because your ignorant of the facts, IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS!

You know, I'm not a religious man by any stretch of the imagination, but the thread starters opening statement has to be one of the most asinine comments I've encountered in some time. Nevermind the fact that this has been placed in the wrong category, there isn't any rationalization that could be offered in order to allow this to continue.
