Yeah I can't wait for the movie! I hope it turns out good. I read that the movie isn't going to tie into the storyline but have to do with something else.

This is shooting in vancouver right now according to a friend of mine, it looks really awesome so far

edited to add: and that it has put a lot of people back to work, which is awesome. almost everyone in vancouver in the film industry lost their jobs when the strike hit. This movie is helping out a lot.

I don't know if it was just a coincidence but once they stopped filming in Vancouver the X-Files wasn't really the same

Your friend is sure that it is filming? IMDB said that it wasn't going into production because of the strike. Of course, I read that a few months ago. I'm glad it's going ahead, I was excited about it, then kind of disappointed that it was delayed.

Oh yes it is filming There are even some on set pictures floating around online. I think the strike is part of the reason they're shooting in vancouver, all the shoots in LA keep getting picketed.

edited to add: And don't put too much stock in imdb, filmtracker.com is a way more acurate resource...but a lot more expensive

I've just been all over the IMDB boards, and no one there has found any pics as of yet. There are usually a few leaked to get the fans all excited, so I am surprised.

I can't wait for this \o/ I'm gonna be in America when it comes out. My friends and I are attending Comic Con and we have our fingers crossed that Anderson and/or Duchovny might be guests. Anyway, www.xfilesnews.com is pretty up to date with info, and *gasp* an explicit love scene? methinks it's a bad rumour.

I hope this doesn't hurt the movie but it seems like it is being shot awfully fast. Big movies like this usually takes alot of time to make and it seems like this is taking a couple months if it's supposed to come out this summer. I'm still excited about the film I just hope it doesn't looke rushed when it finally comes out.

Most movies are shot in under 3 months. The X-Files has always been more character driven, so even though I'm sure they have some cool effects, it will be a quick shoot. Movies like Watchmen, which is also being shot in Vancouver, take significantly longer because they're a lot more complicated. Don't let the shooting time worry you, it's perfectly normal.

And also, they do most special effects separately now, so some are being done while the filming is still in production, too.
