This is if found to be what it might be, is a monumental world event.

Cradle of Fish
It sounds a bit like a Dolphin.

Its just remixed background radiation picked by Cassini. Its no "alien voices". For that stuff look at the UFO´s board.

Fully aware of that fact thanks bud, it is in this section because it is space related.

Agreed, I'm going to move the thread to that section.

If you are fully aware of the facts (i.e. that you believe it is background radiations and not "alien voices") then why the subject title?

I don't believe NASA would have released such a thing without first knowing what it was. My guess is background noise.

These eerie sounds from Saturn kind of reminds me of the Forbidden Planet.

Well quite interesting, specially if that NASA quote is real that is shown in the end of the clip. I'm sure they would have a good explanation for it if it was something as simple as the suggestions above.

Let us know if more is found out about this or if NASA publically says anything about this recording.

cheers

Irregardless of what any video has to say, and although it does sound very strange, there is really no "mystery" to these sounds.

I have a CD of pretty much the same thing titled Symphonies of the Planets 2 by LaserLight digital. It's basically recordings of the interactions of charged particles with the Solar Wind and the Planetary magnetosphere.

The only difference being what is linked to is from Cassini, and the CD I have is from Voyager.

For crying out loud, it even says on the video what the noises are!

"each tone is produced by the impact of a meteoroid on the icy chunks that make up the rings"

And the reason it sound all odd and robotic is because they had to lower the pitch of the noise PLUS the fact that its on youtube adds mp3 encoder distortion to the sound.

Why can't people think about what they're posting before actually doing so???

And posted on youtube. Lets hope the leading cosmologists around the world have signed up. They'll probebly stumble across this while surfing for porn.

To me it sounds like the recording the government got hold of in the "Transformers" movie. Wonder if this is where they might have got the idea for that part of the movie.

I have, nothing but the expected noise. Nothing unusual IMHO.

This is rather humorous, reminds me of that "dna music" that people were doing. Next time you are this bored turn on your tv to that static screen and watch it, you have a better chance of finding something new and "otherworldly" haha. My old cordless phone used to pick up the neighbors landline phone, odd right? Well, he wasn't a praeterhuman intelligence existing in deep space or on other planes..... ewww.. or maybe he was. haha. Just kidding. I had to laugh, thanks for that. Peace for now, don't get to stressed out over those sounds, leave it up to SETI.

Peace,
