Hey, I saw this on CNN and thought that someone else might be interested. A one ton rodent was discovered... not too much info on CNN, anyone know more... betcha it would make a cute pet

Wow. It's a good thing it fed mainly upon soft vegetables and fruits. It's also a good idea not to dress up like a carrot. You might regret it.

Also the article make sa mistake. It was a rodent, not a rat. Rats are part of teh rodent family, but not all rodents are rats. Look at the capibara for example.

As Mekorig pointed out, it's a member of the rodent family, but being of South American origin it's most like a member of the Family Cavidae, which includes Capabara, and the Guinea Pig (of which I personally have five). A couple years ago they found remains of another giant rodent called Phoberomys Pattersoni, it was the size of a cow. I'm attempting to put a link to the article, but I don't know if it will work, since I've never done it before.

Yeah, I was kinda hoping that the bones were a bit more recent, the article isn't all that clear on it...
