Okay, so I study just about anything that has to do with mysticism, spirituality, and the paranormal, but I actually know very little about astrology. 2007 was a profoundly terrible year for me, and without question the worst I can ever remember. In Jan. a good friend of mine abruptly commited suicide; in July my uncle passed away after a battle with cancer, and literally two weeks later my father-in-law died of heart failure in the hospital, after going in for what we thought was just a simple infection. I am a very spiritual person, but this was so impossibly difficult its hard to even write about it on here. But it wasn't just me. This kind of stuff was happening to people all around me, A LOT of death, and even things like financial burdens. It seems like almost every day for a period of months I was hearing of some type of tragedy, either about someone I knew, or someone I knew through somebody else. I began to think there may have been something at work here, some greater force, that I couldn't explain, but clearly felt, as did many others I knew. It seemed to loom over everything last year.

A few weeks ago Syliva Browne was on Montel, and she asked the audience if people had experienced anything like what I mentioned above in '07 and nearly every hand in the audience went up. She said that 07 was a bad year due to the planetary influences on earth. She even mentioned a specific planet, but I don't remember which one. Please don't turn this into a Browne bashing forum, though, as I am skeptical of her too. What I want to know though, is if there is any validity to this claim. Anyone who knows a fair amount about astrology, I would appreciate your insights here. Was their planetary or cosmic influences that may have caused some of this in 2007? Also, if anyone else had a year like mine, and may think that this could have been the case with you too, please feel free to post your experiences here.

People die all the time. I too had losses in '07, but it happens. I cannot determine if astrology had anything to do with it, but I wouldn't look too much into it. I myself, had a pretty good year in 2007. Then again... I am a Libra...

Any problems you had in your life were not due to the position of the planets on your birth and during a given year. The problems you face in life are no better or worse depending on the locations and alignments of the planets. The plants, their positions in the sky, their relations to each other or anything else, holds no sway over you.

Life is difficult at times. Life is trying at times. Life is full of death at times. Life is incredible at times. Life is amazing at times. Life is life. Always has been and always will be. Do not go looking to the stars in order to blame something for your troubles. Your troubles are either your own fault, someone else screwing you over, coincidence and life running its course.

For some people 07 was a good year. For some a bad one and for others a moot one. Nothing to do with the planets at all. Just life going on the way it always has. Some good, some bad, a lot of gray in between. Simple as that.

If you want more info about astrology from someone who believes in it and practices it, look for posts by Theodore in this forum. They are interesting reads so be sure to read other peoples comments and questions about it. Questions that never really seemed to get answered. Then do some thinking. Really the only planet you should concern yourself with is our very own Terra Firma. For most people and their lives the other ones might as well not even exist.....

i never put a lot into astrology.
just dosn't make sense to.
the planets have there cycles, its been going on since the begining of time.
and will continue long after we are gone.

1- 2007 was a very bad year for every good person I know. Worst year of my life for the last 24 years. I'm old so that is saying a lot.

2-Astrology? Doesn't work for me except an obscure theory I have on observation. Scientifically the stars & planets do not exert much pull etc.

3-Grassroots observation? Combination of things; however I pay attention to things that keep popping up all the time. OK... some grassroots numerology perhaps works for me. The number 13 dogged me all year. THere were a lot of Friday 13 last year. I changed jobs, hired on the 13th, 2 weeks later went on a bus. trip and not only stayed in a hotel that had a 13th floor but they put me in room 1313. I flew back on Friday 13. I got fired the next month on 13th. In 31 years of working never fired in my life. I asked a question - a perfectly legal normal question and they fired me on the spot. I got out of court settlement but still... I could go on and on.

2007 - numerology-wise adds up to 9. The WORST number. I could explain better later... it is insidious and involved in really bad stuff throughout history. I never paid attention to numerology.

However... I would suggest you expand your studies. Study the religions of the world also. I think... a wise man once said we cannot hide the secret of life where it will not be found. (insert your higher power here) decided to hide it in each person. So I find grains of truth everywhere and add them to my collection. My secret to life and truth totally different from yours no doubt. Good luck.

This is excellent advice Kevin. Although what is called "astrology" is real, and is nothing more than the study & practice of navigating time cycles on all living things on Earth, it is important to remember that we do live on Earth, and the world we inhabit has a great loving, and horrible history. We cannot blame the stars for all our troubles, but they do influence us, just as the weather influences all of our lives every single day. We cannot escape this fact, however, with foreknowledge, and a deeper (not surface) understanding of our world and the manner in which we all are influenced, we can work toward becoming better persons, helping ourselves to grow, while also helping others on the same journeys through life.
