Having always been interested in the paranormal, occult, and things of that nature, I've always had questions about myself. Now when you're young you like to believe all the unexplained things or slightly spooky things are paranormal related and you're so sort of powerful individual. I'll admit I was a foolish teenager that was desperate to be so unique and different with powers beyond that of the regular human being. Innocence is bliss no?

However I've always been sensitive to energies, my surroundings, dreams, knowing things I shouldn't or couldn't possibly have known. Here is a for instants- When someone is feeling a particularly strong emotion I can feel them invade my space. Im not sure if they realize how strong they are pushing themselves out there, but its often aggravating. I've been standing in line to purchase something and the man or woman in front of me is lets say..angry. Its like watching their astral body jump out at me, scream in my face and within 45 seconds or so, it stops. Or I can hear them clearly yelling in my ear and then its gone. I can read people like books...literally. Just...neat little empathic like corks.

So I researched for awhile and found a medium in my area. My first visit is going to be with her on the 4th. We're going to hit on a few topics; pastlife regression, dead ancestors/relatives, and determine if I too am a medium, clairvoyant, channeler, or empathic. If it turns out that she isn't off her rocker (which after talking to her for a few hours through e-mail and phone I don't believe she is) and believes I have any of those gifts/abilities, she's going to help me fine tune them. Needless to say I'm rather excited.

Has anyone else here worked with a medium or psychic? Or done pastlife regressions?

This is going to sound negative but bare with me .Dont get me wrong i think there are some great mediums out there . but i also believe there are many more that try to con you .I have worked with a few mediums and i believe you made one mistake already . here .

This is IMO a bad idea if you are going to meet soemone who you dont yet know and want to asscertain if they are real deal or not . simply because she now as more information about you than i would feel comfortable with in this situation. be aware of what you have already said to her and if she brings any of this up then you will know she is just cold reading you especially regarding your life or past relatives .

I dont personally think anyone else can determine if you are a medium either . YOU should be already aware if there is some clairvoyant ability there . as for past life regression . Where i come from mediums dont deal with this . its a no brainer . because none of the information can be verified. same with those who will offer to give you a guide reading . i wouldnt trust them either they can make anything up . like they can say that you have red indian guide LOL how could you prove them wrong ?? you couldnt. so its a win win situation for them and they know it .

Sorry to be negative LOL i just know from experience that you have to be careful with these people .

Thank you for your feed back. I didn't take it negatively at all. In fact I find this a very positive thing. I told her what I would like to discuss but the conversations were more about her than myself. I wanted to know her credentials before I decided to go forward with anything. I will be very careful and should I be the fool in the end, then I'll take it as yet another learning experience to look back on for the future.

As far as knowing what I am (labels) I suppose I'm more afraid to claim the title. I'm not very familiar with it all, and I feel kind of silly saying "Yea, I experience weird things that other people don't. I think I might be this..but this isn't exactly acceptable is it?". I'm afraid of the rejection and negativity that comes along with such claims. I don't claim to be anything less than regular- but I crave explanations for the unusual events I encounter with people.

I have never met a medium that I saw channel a dead human, but I have met a Vodoun Priest that channeled a Lwa, it was very interesting and I believe 100% that it was authentic, SS79 makes a good point, there are a lot of people out there that will want to mess with you, anyone who asks money for them to do something for you, in my opinoin, should be avoided.

I agree. I'm a curious creature. I want answers and don't know how to go about getting them. I suppose this is as good as any place to start.

there are plenty of books that can help you out.

Interesting. Did you go? Why would you need her to confirm your abilities? The answers are inside you already. To get more, pay attention around you. Things will come your way as you need them.

I have seen several psychics... on a lark. One I know was genuine another fake; not sure about the others. They all took one look at my palms and closed shop.

I fine tuned me self and still working on it. Neverending process. As to past lives, I don't go under hyponosis or anything. Period. Also several attempts; complete failure. No need... this also comes my way on a need to know basis. Trust your self and those sharp pinging first instincts that ring true and feels right.
