I just watched a show on the History Channel which brought back an experience I had.

In early December 2004 I was with my 3 brothers-in-law on their fishing boat about 30km off the the coast Mindanao, Philippines. 30km East of Bislig Bay to be more exact. It was mid morning and we were pulling nets and culling the catch on the waters surface. The water was smooth as glass and there was no waves or wake.

There were 10 or 12 of us on the boat and we all saw 50 or so of these "rods" shoot out of the water straight up into the air. A few were very close to the boat and we could hear "pops" as the rods broke the surface. No one had seen these before apparently, nothing was said among the crew except some calling others buang (crazy).

These were followed about 10 minutes later by a fair amount of bubbles. When the fishermen saw the bubbles they recognized that there was a linog (earthquake) underneath us. This worried me to no end but they didnt think it was worth worrying about. When we returned to the dock we learned that there was indeed a minor tremor.

I will never forget the things shooting straight up out of the ocean. Now I have an explanation of what those actually were. During the show I googled "rods" and found this page http://www.roswellrods.com/ which eventually led me here somehow and to register so I can tell you people my experience =)

That sounds really cool! original.gif Yeah I believe you. What they might have been I don't know. I didn't catch the MonsterQuest show you're talking about. I think these things are different though because from what I heard about the show the rods they talked about were invisible to the naked eye and later concluded to be just a camera effect.

Yeah after thinking about it I realize I didnt actually see the rods themselves but rather the effect they had on the water as they left it. I was never looking straight at one of these as it left the water but could see it peripherally then glanced over to see. What I saw was a small ripple and drops of water falling back down to the surface. And the sounds too.

If the water wasnt so smooth I would have never seen what I think I saw. All of us definately were left with the feeling we witnessed something small leaving the water at a high rate of speed.

Rods aren't real.

People used to think they were after lots of images of these elongated flying 'things' were caught on thousands of home video cameras across the world, but it turned out they were just regular insects like ladybugs or mosquitos flying too quickly for the framerate of the camera to keep up, so they would appear as long streaks across a single frame instead of looking like a regular insect across many frames. Think about if you take a picture of something moving quickly, it blurs right?

Not sure what you did see though, other people might be able to help you out; and welcome to the forum. thumbsup.gif

This one as been around since camcorders have been widely available, it as also been prooved to be nothing more than insects of any description flying past.
STILL COOL THOUGH.

I saw some of that show, on the History Channel. My opinion is that the sites have energies that are not well recorded.
Since, insects are the most dominate life form. Many do in fact record them. They don't appear as they do in specific areas, on most film.

Family picnics aside, these areas are worth looking into: As, they may be points-of-interest as some circles refer.

To me, since they didn't show any still frames, but being capable; I noticed what would appear to be 'attachments' that seemed to appear through improper de-coding by the coding hardware of the equipment. The fins are a definite shape, and they appear to 'appear' from nowhere. Which to me indicates that there's more phenomenon in these areas, and maybe some should look into it...

Welcome to UM!

I as well have seen rods with my naked eyes, if they were in fact rods.
If I go outside and look at the stars on a moonless night, after a few minutes I start to see what look like tiny comets falling to Earth, but the problem is they are in front of things like trees and cars, sometimes swerving and crisscrossing.
