How did your pet get their name?
My NEW budgie, Azul, got his name for the light blue color of his plumage. My other bird, Ezekiel, got his name from the name Zeke.

Most of my pets got their name fom there personalities, colourings and a couple got their names from their moms and dads,(kinda mixing the two to make one!) A couple like a cat we had name keeka, was named by my 15 month old daughter at the time it was her way of calling kitty cat! So it stuck!

Our pets got their names from two factors it had to be the name of a sweet treat and also had to at least go with their coloring. So far we have had an Oreo and Pez both were hamsters. We also have had two other hamsters that didn't go by that rule which were Pikachu and Ivan, Ivan was named after a hurricane and Pika was a pokemon character (she looked like the pokemon

). We now have a dog and a cat, the dog is Brownie and the cat Reecee (like Reese's peanut butter cups or like Reese's pieces).

my 'newest' kitty got her name from the vet i worked at.. kinda long story.. us nurses used to have nicknames for each other, so when ppl rang up on the phone to look for that person. no one of that name worked there. well, i always used to say 'you're terrible' she'd answer back 'muriel' and that name stuck
muriel was a dumped kitty, how i dont know, she is absolutely beautiful, and smoochy as. wont leave me alone. when i go outside, she cries until i come back in, and has to sleep so she is touching if i move, she snuggles back in. she's also a bit of a tart.. walks up to me, rolls on her back and puts her legs in the air for a tummy rub.
she and tigger (yes, original arent i?) run around the house like mad buggers.. great value

For some reason, my dogs always had human names -- Brandy, Carrie, Cody, Cosmo, and Cleo (apparently all the ones I named started with C too. Never noticed until now! LOL).
All my pet birds were named after mountains... McKinnley, Pelee, St. Helen, Olympia, Rainier, Chamonix, Fuji, there were a lot more than that too. My reptiles always ended up being named after mythical monsters like Pelinore, Mott, Grendel, etc...
Not sure what was up with the "theme" names, it just ended up that way.

Her name is Leila (layla) which is an arabic name meaning dark beauty, dark as the night or born at night.
She's a petite little black otter rabbit

Daisy , now at 10 months , is mostly house broken . Not her fault however. We still leave a pee pad at night near the garbage since swift we are not. And because her training had been broken twice for long periods - when Grandma went into the hospital for 6 weeks and for the last 2 -3 . I've been dealing with bronchial pneumonia. so I was sleeping like 16 to 20 hours straight. she was pretty good with her pee pad usage. thankfully , but that did break up the letting us know to go outside routine. We are back at it slowly ( I'm still a bit sick)

Oh i,m so sorry to hear about your gran! I hope she,s feeling better now! And deffinitly know about bronchial pnewmonia, and sleep is what really helps the body to heal! Just keep getting lots of rest and take good care of yourself! As for Daisy, i,m glad she,s useing her pee pad! And as soon as your properly on your feet again she,l learn what pleases her momma and in no time at all she,ll have it figured out! Just don,t do too much while your still even a bit sick or it will hit you full force again! I know as i almost died from it thinking i was well enough to go full steam again! Well it showed me by putting right in hospital flat and worse than the first time it hit! So you take care of you and the rest will follow! Sending prayers and good vibes your way!

Our new kitten is grey with black markings. We were trying to find a different name, and so in the dark I thought she looked like a shadow, but, that being used many, many times, we came up with Misty since she looks kind of misty in the dark. Boring, I know, but that's it.

VERY cute animals you have there

5 pets here
Ryu - bearded dragon - apparently Ryu means dragon in Japanese according to my daughter. That why she named him that
Binx - Black Cat - From the movie Hocus Pocus
Meg - Tabby cat - no idea why my girlfriend named her that
Sonny - Miniature Dachshund - That was his name when my singer gave him to us.
Max - CockerSpaniel: GREAT story behind this one....
A few years back we had to put down our German Shepard due to old age and bad medical reasons. (I cried my eyes out). We had no dogs at that point and decided after about a month that we should probably get another dog. We told my 'stepdaughter' that she could get a puppy for her birthday. She was all excited and kept saying that she wanted a boy dog so she could name him Max.
We searched for a while to try to find a dog that would suit our family AND our budget with no luck. One day while leaving the local pet store after buying crickets for Ryu I noticed a flyer posted on the bulletin board that I swear was NOT there on the way into the store. It read... 'Free to good home: American Cocker Spaniel puppy.'
I called the number immediately knowing that offer would be snatched up in a heartbeat and we drove the woman's house to check the puppy out.
It turns out the Woman's husband bought the puppy for her birthday. She loved the dog but recently had started to watch her grandson and it was too much work for her to step over all the doggie gates in the house with a baby in hand. She deemed it best to find a good home for her puppy.
Before we even met the puppy I could tell that the older lady was prescreening us. Once she realized that we were the right family for her puppy she called out to him "Max, come here puppy... Max comon' boy."
My girlfriend just looked at each other in total amazement, took Max home and have been spoiling him ever since.

Its the missis, she is mad about them. She breeds and shows them, I could have had a nice new four by four for the price of this lot, but they are funny little buggers. I had a big bernese mountain dog but she died and cannot bring myself to replace her.
