Hello, first of all. I'm Kendall. New here...uh...yeah.

For the past few months, I've had a lot of unexplained thing. I've wound up here, and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I tend to feel other people's emotions in place of my own. It's hard because if someone is very sad and depressed, I can't help but be in that state as well, and I cannot do anything about it. I'll even think some of their thoughts, but I can't read minds. It's weird, I can't return to my own thoughts and feelings until they're completely out of my line of site. It's happened so many times over the last couple weeks. About once or twice a week.

It's crazy, and I don't want this to get out of control. I'm starting to look into some things to try and help...I don't know calm it? Controlling it sounds like too big of a word, because I need to know what this is. Any suggestions on what this might be? Any suggestions?

Welcome to the site, from what I've heard it sounds like your an empath, feeling other peoples emotions, I have no idea how you would control it, maybe someone else on here who is more into psychic stuff could help you, lol. sorry.

Yes I do. It's very odd. I don't get them on a regular basis, but when this happens yes, I have a headache. It usually lasts for a minute or two, and then it subsides. Then the emotion and feeling of the other person comes. It's odd, to say the very least.

Ahahaha. I guess it'd be cool. It's uh...interesting to put up with. >>

You can try shielding to get other people's emotions away from yourself.

Hi Kendall,

Welcome to UM.

The goal is to stay balanced. You as an empath are absorbing the emotional energy from another. If you could visualize a conversation with your higher, grander, wiser self, then you could get some insights into how best you can deal with these issues.

Are you sure nobody you know is expecially sad and depressed?

I think Genocyde is right, your empathic. May I ask if your a Virgo as well? In any case what you need is an "On/Off" switch. I have a solution but it's not super quick though it's guaranteed to work. PM me if you're interested.

I do know someone that is depressed, but he is an online friend. It doesn't work over online situations and chats. I must be physically able to see the person. Pictures don't do a thing either.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I've been researching it a bit, Empathy, and it matches. ^^; Thanks you guys so much for this.

You need to learn to shield yourself from their energy. This is unfortunately easier said than done. Some people are easier to build up a resistance to than others; people who are experiencing very strong emotions tend to be the ones that are problematic... (but then you can always try to avoid them if possible)

Good luck and if you find anything that works let me know...

Hello,

You can refer to this website. Hope it helps: http://www.rebo.viens.la

Not everything is supposed to make sense. Maybe some things are supposed to 'scare us' and prevent us from doing things.

Sincerely,

Cheers

I posted this a while back; you might also want to Wikipedia the definitions of an empath. Best advice... know yourself and center. Before you walk into a room... what and how are you? Then you walk in and its all different. Know yourself. Identify and separate what others are feeling from what is really you. Then maybe if you have this difficult gift you can help others. Good luck....
