Well if you are a pet owner or former pet owner you kno that dogs have some senses that we do not have...like your dog seems to hop out of know where and start looking at something in the middle of the room. Well I dont know about you guys but you no how a lot of times you can tell when someone is in a room? maybe behind you? well I'm guessing they have something like that..but they bark about it.

Anyway, After my dog died I was coming back from the garage (getting the shovel..I was digging the hole sad.gif ) I heard foot steps in the hall. They were the clicking taps like a dog would make. And she was the only dog (but dead...) that we owned at the time. The weirder thing is it was right near her bed used to be. Now, about 2 weeks later we got another dog (another lab) and every once and awhile she will get up, walk to that same room, and start barking...or she wont sleep there...because thats where she sleeps now...I just think thats pretty weird. Its like she's in there visiting and my dog may not like it sad.gif I get this feeling just talking about this.... blink.gif

I had a similar experience with my last doberman, after he passed away I would be in bed and I would feel a wait jump down onto the bottom of the bed (where he slept when I let him). And I could here panting noises about the house.

Dont know what to believe imagination, tiredness etc, but I know I want to believe it was him, it's kind of nice knowing there still there as a friend/guardian! crying.gif

Most Dogs are loyal(every one knows that) and my guess is that dog does not know it is dead. How did the dog Die? That could be the key to the problem.

Well, her wind pipe was closing up of old age the doctor told us (seems a little weird..but its common in labs.) So we put her to sleep....

and id get scared of panting noises lol

ohmy.gif freaky sometimes when you lose someone close to you, you still hear them because there echoes of the past that you still want there.
But i totally believe that theres a possibility that your dog is still with you in some other form. Maybe looking over you original.gif

tarabull
wink2.gif I totally believe in ghost dogs...they continue to touch our lives long after they are gone. We had the most awesome dog...a bull terrier (like Don Cherry's dog Blue) her name was Tarabull. Dogs are the most amazing companions.

I'll take you back to the beginning...we had just gotten Tara, she was just a puppy, it was a cold and blistery winter day - we were walking down the side walk....Next thing I notice she had something in her mouth...I bent down and pulled a $10.00 bill from her grasp...My husband and I howled...we couldn't believe it, it was like she was contributing to our cause, like she was saying "Don't ever say I don't help out"...it was a strange and unforgettable experience.

After 13 years of companionship our Tara died August 2003 of kidney failure. She passed away in her sleep, in her spot beside our bed. It is still so strange not having her....but I believe she is with me always. We don't let too many days go by without saying remember the time when tara did this or that...we keep her alive by talking about her, by remembering her...there were so many memories of that dog. Sometimes she visits me in my dreams and other times I imagine hearing her in our home. When I am reminded of her - when I dream of her or a memory is stirred, I feel it's her way of coming through to me, letting me know she really is still here, as any good dog would be.

Just the other day my husband & I were out and parked our truck along a street. It was a cold and blistery winter day....I got out of the truck on the passenger side....started walking down the sidewalk and there it was laying there saying "See mom, I am still with you"...you might not believe it but it was a $10.00 bill....it was a comforting and unforgettable experience.

And once again my husband & I howled, but this time it was with tears in our eyes. There is no doubt she is always with us. Our ghost dog Tarabull.

it's probably just your past dog's pheromones, the dog's scent. Your other dog is probably picking up on it. Pheromones can absorb into any kind of porus material and can be released from it intermitantly, the intensity of release varying with a number of atmospheric properties. The woman who lived in my house before me also had a dog, and now every now and then we can still smell that doggy odor, and the dog's been gone for at least 7 years. I'm not saying it can't be anything supernatural, but this seems like the most likely answer at the moment. As before sated, you may just be imagining those noises because you miss your dog so much.

I think that animals are far more in tune with the natural world, and therefore spirit, than humans because they have far fewer distractions. They don't watch TV or have music etc.

I have had two dogs who have passed on. The first one, the whole family would see from time to time - just glimpses out of the corner of the eye for the most part.

The second one, she's been heard barking to my mum to let her in from outside. She had a pretty unique bark for this, and it was unlike any other sounds or barks. This was about a month after she'd passed.

I'd be pretty pissed off if someone replaced me after two weeks too.
