In the land of Stenret'ni fools gather.
They gibber and stamp, saying nothing.
Will they be silenced? Will they leave Stenret'ni?
"Never" says the oracle. The blind lead the stupid.

explain to me plz someone? i didnt realy get what its about, yes i'm slow, is this about the goat with six legs? what challenge are you talking about?

If Randi didnt want to deal with you I could see why; from the looks of your writing it appears disjointed and rambling. The only way you stopped his challenge is by not offering anything concrete to challenge him with.

I cant believe I spent all the time I did reading through that pointless babble.

I am no psychic, but I get a strong feeling that this thread is going to go poorly. I wonder if Nostradamus has a quatrain to cover how quickly the wheels come off this thread? Ughhh.

James Randi is a person that offers a million dollars to a person that can prove paranormal things in a controlled environment. From his website:
QUOTE
At JREF, we offer a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. The JREF does not involve itself in the testing procedure, other than helping to design the protocol and approving the conditions under which a test will take place. All tests are designed with the participation and approval of the applicant. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary test of the claim, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test. Preliminary tests are usually conducted by associates of the JREF at the site where the applicant lives. Upon success in the preliminary testing process, the "applicant" becomes a "claimant."

To date, no one has passed the preliminary tests.

Anyone can claim to do anything. There are people on this forum who can control the weather, move objects with their mind, read minds at will, levitate, travel through stargates to alternate dimensions, Speak to the dead on a daily basis, are the actual physical son of god, astral project themselves to the surface of mars, start fires with a thought, are immortal, are werewolves, are vampires...

Yet out of all of those people(that just scratches the surface too), no one ever seems to be able to offer one single shred of evidence or proof. No one. With one million dollars available to them if they could prove what they claim, all of these people have somehow come to never attempt to go for the challange.

If you spend any time here, you will see the challange mentioned as it is a way to scientifically prove a claim with both sides making up the guidelines for what is considered "proof". Most of the time every excuse in the world is created as to why the person does not want to take the challange (knowing they do not possess the skills they claim). They will say that they dont want that money (?) or need the money, that it would be against their moral values to win the money. When it is mentioned that they could donate the money to their favorite charity, it does not help. There end up being thousands of excuses, more and more elaborate and ridiculous as to why they do not want to prove their skills.

Then their are examples like this where it is rather obvious why the foundation couldnt follow through the test. If you read through several pages of material and cant figure out what the heck the person is talking about it is a great indication that you are dealing with something that the scientists cant make any sense out of either.

While we agree about the OP of this thread, the unclaimed status of the Randi "challenge" is not evidence of anything one way or the other about paranormal matters.

The difficulty is that it does not create an enforceable claim under United States law. Since the first thing the typical serious person in the United States does before entering into a million dollar project with anybody is to consult a lawyer, serious persons would not likely pursue the prize any further than that.

Randi's original purpose in offering the prize was to promote his business as an entertainer. Promoting one's business by an "offer" which cannot be perfected is completely legal in the United States.

The offer is not a "scam," and its purpose is not to exact money from would-be claimants. It is a publicity stunt. There is nothing wrong with that, legally or morally.

Feel free to check that I have never made any paranormal claim here, and so I am not making an excuse for anything.

O... K... so excerpts from ancient texts, a band that sings literally gay love songs, and a natural genetic mutation result in more than four limbs was supposed to get you 1 million dollars for proving paranormal activity?
