The air pollution caused by that will cease. Though it will only last for a caculated two days.
It will probably last for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. I wonder what the decay rate is for all the garbage we've created in the last few centuries?

The things that probally wont make it. Is domesticated animals. Animals such as reptiles in tanks and birds in cages and dogs that are full time house dogs will probally die. Though most will survive, if they can escape their cages. These animals will resort to scavanging since they havent been taught how to hunt properly. Though in about twenty years the animals will be fully equiped to survive witho out the help of humans. Some animals that we thought relied on humans will survive. Things like pigeons will make a full recovery they will survive.
I think caged birds that haven't been moved drastically out of their natural habitat will survive. A few dogs might not survive but most will form packs and will go right back to wolf-hood. Look at what happened in New Orleans after Katrina. Two months later the city was swarming with puppies! I don't know this for sure, but I think there are very few animals that couldn't survive without humans. The animals that will die are the ones that have been moved out of their natural habitats.

Then eventually cracking and making the buildings crumble.
Our structures will become archaeological relics, very gradually reverting back to earth.
