for those of you who dont know what an mmorpg is, it is a massive multiplayer online roleplaying game, yea thats why they call it mmorpg. what is it about world of warcraft that makes me hooked? its a very interesting thing really. maybe its the interaction with other people. or perhaps it is the quests, or the player vs player. whatever it is, it makes me play almost constantly, trying to reach max lvl (lvl 70)

anyone else here play? im horde on gorefiend laugh.gif

The servers have limits, so whatever those limits are is the max number of people.

If you're over 17, screw WoW and play Everquest II. The community is much more mature and less pervy, and I find the game to be a little darker and less cartoon-y. They're very similar in world, but atmosphere is different and I think the character selection for EQII was better too. =)

My main was pretty much maxed out for the time - a level 70 SK in almost full Fabled (top tier) - before I quit. I still miss the people.
Mad Manfred
lvl 61 Shadow Priest, lvl 49 Huntard, lvl 41 Fire Mage, lvl 40 Affliction Warlock, lvl 40 Huntard, lvl 33 Affliction Warlock, lvl 27 Feral Druid, lvl 25 Combat Rogue, lvl 24 Protection Paladin, lvl 20 Priest, lvl 20 Frost Mage, and a ton of alts under lvl 20. All Horde. Mostly prissy Blood Elves, too tongue.gif

I used to play a Free MMORPG called Anarchy Online, abbreviation, ARK, but when I found out after a few weeks of playing that I was seriously getting addicted to it and wasting precious time I stopped playing it.. I would Never pay for an MMORPG.. if ya kids want to play play ARK, Anarchy online.. lots of fun.. http://www.anarchy-online.com/wsp/anarchy/...p;template=main and it's free..

This may be a total n00b comment but....
I just bought the game under the impression I would get a free months subscription before I would have to enter any payment details.
When I tried to create an account it asks for credit card information, do i enter this and then the free month subscription comes later or am I missing out something here?
Any help would be appreciated.
the_atheist_mind
sorry i didnt check up on this post till today, anyway you get a free month of subscription with your account initialization original.gif big words original.gif

Ok thanks, do you think starting with a Dwarfen Hunter would be a good idea? Or would a rouge be better?
Werewolf of Doom
^ Hunters. They're very easy to control.

Anyway, I have a 52 Troll Shaman (Enhancement), 43 Tauren Hunter (Beast Master/Marksman), and a 40 Night Elf Druid (Feral, but switching to Balance once I get another 9 gold...)

WoW is amazing. Period.
ShaunZero
I played for a while and actually became a pretty good PvPer at low levels. Everyone always commented on how skilled I was as a rogue. I only got to level 42 though. After that I decided to stop playing since I was way too addicted and didn't have time to continue since leveling was beginning to take even longer.

*stands up*

Hi, my name is DrunkDwarf, and ive been clean now for two years. Every day has been a struggle, but for my own benefit, and for the benefit of everyone around me, ive managed to fight against the urge to return to World of Warcraft. I want to thank Jeebus, my family, and my WoWaholics Anonymous support group, for getting me through these difficult times.

WoW is lame no question

Its everquest blizzards way

If your looking for an MMORPG with very strong PvP Dark Ages of Camelot is still hands down number one.

I quit due to jobloss and massive bills, its a redundant and boring game filled with a varying group of players, sadly I met a bunch of the worst, and that helped me quit, I hope for good. there's a ton more to do in life then sit and play a game over and over and over and over.
NoahJaymes
I agree, it got boring for me after the first few months of the expansion...once you are maxed out I feel it is pointless to do random quests anymore.

Except that in order to run EQII at a decent visual, you need a gaming video card. WoW can be played on stock video cards on many computers. The only reason character selection is better for EQII is because any race can be any class. I hate it now that they've made the betrayal quests so much easier. I played back when you killed over a thousand orcs to betray. I have a 31 or 31 High Elf Necromancer on there...

On the other hand, I'm a WoWer now. I play on Uldaman, Horde.

My most played right now are my 70 warlock, 41 mage, and 24 paladin.
Andreajo
I love WoW! I'm on the Gorgannash server. Horde: 49 lvl bm hunter and 35 frost mage.

And..yep. I'm an actual girl who plays...LOL
NoahJaymes
Frost mage is the way to go. I am a lvl 70 Frost Mage, epic'd out and always on top of the damage meter. That is without pulling Aggro as well. I was once strictly fire but once we started running Kara, it was pointless to be fire, once you get there you will find out why.

Yeah..I started out arcane and that used way tooo much mana and then switched to fire and realized that pvp was killing...literally (lol)...and then paid 10g to go frost. I love the icy veins! :-P

I'm working on leveling my hunter now since it's so easy to level up. Then once I get her ready, I can twink my mage out..lol

Btw...What server are you on, CryWolf?
NoahJaymes
I am on Lothar...I haven't played since.....November maybe. I needed a break from it and haven't gotten back into the routine of things because of classes...
Da Kid
I use to play...never again.

Once you realize the game is a never ending grind fest, it's easy to quit for good.
euthanasia
exactly, the only reason that i don't play WoW is b/c 1) it's really expensive, and 2) i would get addicted =)

I don't think fire is that bad, i'm frost as well lvl 38 on Korial and my main 70 BE pally on the same realm.
NoahJaymes
I recommend fire if you are PVP or leveling, otherwise once you hit 70 I'd sit on frost.

do any of you people who play WoW actually have like wives, or husbands, or girlfriends or anything?

Yeah - many do and many do not. Most of the time you'll see husband and wife duo's that play the game together. Or you'll see on-line Warcraft nerd love where two players meet in game and fall in love. They never actually seen each other out of WOW though.
Andreajo
My husband plays...he's a lvl 65 lock. We're going to split up the account soon so we can quest together. We are in the same guild tho so that's helpful since a lot of the ppl in the G are his co-workers.

more like ghostlands....70 shaman, username is my name in it

Yeah...but i know of relationships that have failed because of WoW lol

Lol...there have been a few times that I have been mad of my husband's gaming! Then I thought, might as well see what's so good about it. Tried WoW and alas, now I see. w00t.gif

I can see where it can cause problems though. There has to be a limit and time to play.....
NoahJaymes
The thing is, once you start a raid it is rather time consuming. I was in Kara for 6 hrs one time and it seriously felt like maybe 3 tops. Time really does fly in that game and that is no joke.
Drayno
My parents are gamers. My mom is currently obsessed with Runescape, and she saw WoW. I honestly don't think I will have my laundry done anymore.
Andreajo
Ok...while my hubby is gaming on WoW, I'm dl'ing a two-wk free trial for Everquest II on the laptop. It looks awesome! rofl.gif
Cadetak
I just started playing. Server name is The Forgotten Coast I think, name is of course Cadetak.
