I think the original Jews looked something like Arabs. The "racial stock" probably came from the middle east and Africa north of the Sahara desert. The Sahara formed 7,300 to 5,500 years ago when some climactic shift caused the monsoonal rains to stop. This means that by the time Judaic culture began to organize there was a huge geographic barrier between Israel and the African cultures, except obviously, for Egypt where they were enslaved. Egypt was multiracial since the Nile went into Nubia. So the Jews must have some black African ancestors.
My husband, who is of Jewish descent and looks central European, had his DNA analyzed recently and learned that he is 12% Ethiopian. Pretty intriguing.
