Okay ppl what are your pet peeves? The things that really make you nuts!!!

So far mine are:

1)When ppl that don't use their blinkers.

I swear I have lost count of how many accidents I've ALMOST been in.

2)People who have no courtesy or manners.

For example have you ever been right behind a person entering a store or wherever and the person in front of you let the door slam literally in your face? I have and I do my best not to let it get to me but it bothers me that most people now-a-days have no consideration, manners, or courtesy for others. I mean how hard is it to be kind and/or considerate??
Look this is how I see it the smallest kindness can change persons bad day into a good day or vice versa.

3)When people are out and pay no attention to their children or teach their kids wrong.

For instance there has been time when I go to the lake with my family and kids run into the trail where the vehicles drive and the parents are either not paying attention or just don't say anything. Or in this one neighborhood we drive through, most of the kids play in the street. And when they see a car coming they don't move out of the way. Why you ask because the mothers tell them " It's okay let them waiting". Meaning take you sweet time getting out of the street the oncoming traffic can wait. Man that pisses me off for so many reasons.

Well, I always disliked the WORD pet peeve... sounds muddy...


I dislike girls who go to the smart kids to do their work during class then just walk off, its hilarious to watch as an outsider but I bet the guy's really pissed that 2 math works sheets didn't get him any action...

People who drive hummers/pickups in the city, and ONLY in the city...

Kids at my HS who live a few blocks away but drive hella expensive cars to school and then do laps of the parking lot during lunch hour...

People seem to forget to hold the door open for others, I do it, but I saw some punk from one of my classes just push past an old lady to get into the safeway..

People who wear earphones even when they aren't on and then bob their head...

People in cars who don't watch for pedestrians..

Cell phones..

My pet peeve is when women leave my toilet seat down, it drives me crazy, it somehow defeats me I don't know what to do...

Unruly kids ((snotnose brats ))...more so for those parents who can't control them. People who try to talk to you, even when they can clearly see that you don't wanna talk to them....but still talk anyways. Grrrrr...So Annoying!!

People who can't be quiet and people who distract me when I'm busy for something that isn't important.

Also the shallow and ignorant.

Well, today I was driving my nephew and daughter to school, and it had snowed last night, but the roads were pretty good. This little old lady was driving 40 kms in a 60kms zone, and she never sped up, but went down to 30kms in the 50kms zone. She had 6 cars lined up behind her on the highway, and I don't know how many were behind us in town. Pull over for pity's sakes!!!! And use the signal light, that is what it is for to SIGNAL that you will be slowing down. ARGH!

I need chocolate...........

People who drive in the fast lane doing 30 mph annoy the crap out of me....Then we have the "Magoo's"...Elderly people who look through the steering wheel instead of over it, doing 10 mph....People driving talking on cell phones, almost killing anyone they come in contact with...Rude and obnoxious people, that burns my butt....And "know it all's"...No matter what you have to say, they contradict and give you their own version....omg, there's not to many people I like...

For some reason i have no pet peeves today! Of course the days still young and i might end up with a few dozen before the day is over! But i,m getting a great chuckle out of what i,m reading here so far, and agree those things can drive you nuts!

I know I also dislike the word pet peeve, but it was the only word that came to mind.

I hate when people chew their food with their mouth open

Oh, that drives me nuts, too. I told my nephew that only pigs eat with their mouths open...and he went and told his other aunt ( that is no relations to me) that pigs eat with their mouths open when she was eating supper with him. ( She is 30 year old woman who still eats with her mouth open, eeewww.) LOL, my sister was so embarassed, but it was funny all the same.

I hate it when people blow their nose in a restaraunt while SITTING AT THEIR TABLE. I wouldn't mind if it was one of light sniffly nose blows but I always manage to sit next to that person that sounds like they are blowing a bucket of snot through a straw with an air compressor.

People who don't listen to logic and reasoning when it's right in front of their face slapping them telling them they are wrong. (People who can't admit they are wrong.)

Spoiled brats. Especially kids who have never been taught to use an inside voice who only know how to yell, and what I call talk-yell. I HATE talk-yelling, where you know they can lower their voice, but they are basically quietly yelling.

Annoying parents who abuse their powers as parent simply because they are the parents.
IE: A good friend of mine is turning 20 soon and his Mom still cannot stand when he is out of the house doing something. She will call every 5 minutes and come up with completely bull excuses so he will come home, just so he can be the "b****" and do/get things for her. While he was working in the oilfield 14+ hours a day, she was still b****ing at him for being lazy and making him do all the chores around the house while she stayed on the computer all night and slept all day. I recently started going to his house again, then I realized why I stopped going in the first place. She seriously reminds me of Kyles' mom from South Park; she's that obnoxious.

Old people who drive very slow and shouldn't be driving in the first place.


I've never had much of a problem with courtesy around where I live (small town in East Texas, pop: 6078)
People here and the larger town (68-70k pop) near here frequently do very courteous things while driving such as if there is a long line of cars and its very difficult to pull out, people will stop just to let you pull out. Or if you make eye contact with someone while driving, even if you don't know them, they will give the two-finger wave. I'm assuming stuff like this doesn't happen much in cities.. Maybe it's a Texas thing? I don't even notice it in small towns else where.

- When people make sexual comments in non-sexual situations. Like, when you say something and someone else twists it into some sexual comment. It annoys me so bad. I hate everything being sexualized

- When people cuss a lot while speaking

- When people insist on touching you even when you've made it clear you don't want to be touched.

- When people keep talking to you after you've told them that you've got to go

- When people EXPECT me to care about their day. I knew one guy who used to get so made at me because I wouldn't ask how his day was. Unless something unusual happened, then I bet your day was the same as it was yesterday. And personally, I don't care if you had to sit in traffic for an hour.

- When people want to tell me something, but they wait until I ask. And then get mad if I don't ask. If you want to tell me something, then just tell me!

- When people make fun of (in a mean way) other people because they're from a different culture/country. (you know, like, making fun of the way they speak or do things).

I don't like it when people drive Hummers/pickups/SUVs only in the city also. They are supposed to be used for outdoor stuff like off-roading in the mountains. But people don't want to get them dirty. If I ever get a Hummer, you can bet I will be doing a lot of off-roading in it. Which brings me to this...


People tricking out their Hummers/pickups/SUVs with $700 rims, sound systems and LCDs in the thing. As I said before, you're supposed to get them DIRTY, not pretty! Hey, that rhymes!

I don't like cell phones that much either. I have mine on vibration all the time. People talking on cell phones while driving is another peeve of mine.

Heelies, (if you don't know what they are, they are those shoes with the little wheel in the heel that kids wear) I hate it when kids go all over the place with those things on & bump into things or people.

Long lines anywhere.

Women thinking Sylvia Brown is all that. We all know she isn't.

Kids thinking Wicca, shamanism, druidism, and other areas of Paganism are like the Harry Potter books.

Ugh! I hate those too! Just walk, damn kids.

edit: Anyone ever watch that Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader show? I hate that one kid, he always has to wheel back to his desk like 4 feet away, wtf is the point?

p.p. when you go to the loo, and the last person has either left one sheet of toilet paper, or an empty roll..

for those with long hair. when you wash your hair, and you realise that a small deposit of stray strands has nestled between your bot-cheeks.

when you see people wearing troushers past their waist. dammit. pull your pants up and get a belt. and then find out the real reason where this fashion statement came from.. then im pretty sure that you wont wear them like that again.

going to a restaurant with friends.. and they want to split the bill, when you havent had a meal that costs that much (plus wine, beer, dessert etc)
