just like all those giant squid that get washed up...jelly fish are soft bodied animals, i would imagine a dead one wouldn't last very long out at sea

Erm so long as you don't think this will make a nice hat of clothing accessary you'll be fine, just make sure you don't have exposed flesh any where they can get to, also it is more likely to exist then any other see cryptid in my mind, where'as giant squid are still squid they are soft bodied but have their limits (It as to grapple with some other big stuff down there) but the jellyfish is probably got the most effective nuero toxins arounds, as it goes get stung by a box jelly, nearly die get revived, toxins still in body go back to previous state, get revived and so on, Because of this they aren't limited to size like squid are, (poison over brute force) any way the size of a jelly fish in my mind is controled by living space, food supply and what it as to generally deal with (maybe it gets into fisty cuffs with other oceanic giants?

I think it's very true, and possible. The reason that they don't wash up on shore, as bathory has said, is because they aren't made of very durable stuff, lol. blink.gif I've read a lot of things like this, and I have to say that I believe them.

I also must say, that I am a jellyfish fan and I think they are beautiful! These really big ones are no exception. Although I hate getting stung, none of them will keep me from going in the water.

A question : In the first pic, that is just a normal picture of the Lion's Mane jellyfish right? It's not supposed to be a pic of a giant jellyfish hopefully, because it looks to me like they just took the picture while the diver was farther away from the jellyfish. The second pic looks real though, and very pretty.

Thankyou LisaMHD!

Loque, in that picture you posted, that is a jellyfish, right? Do you know the name of it by any chance? Because where I used to live, there were these really small jellyfish that didn't sting you. They would glow a greenish color in the dark. You could see them every where if you went fishing at night. We called them Moonfish. blink.gif They kinda looked like that, with the line looking things in the middle, but they weren't in the ocean. Kinda far from it if my memory serves me right. wacko.gif

Anyway, I never found out what they were. It was kind of annoying, but since I've stopped looking. Does anyone know what they could be called?

((And you are probably thinking : You are the one interested in jellyfish. Why don't you know?)) grin2.gif

geeohn
cool pictures,
they look so cool with their glowing energy of colors.

I wonder if fishes out there eat Giant Jellyfishes?

Some cultures have jellyfishes as food, but not the ones with Poison.
