Full Version: Red Rain In India
Unexplained Mysteries Discussion Forums > Unexplained Mysteries > Extraterrestrial Life & The UFO Phenomenon

Whilst browsing this forum I was reminded of a programme broadcasted a year or so back documenting a case where in Kerala, India it rained red for weeks!!

No one could explain why this happened and what was more puzzling the red rain consisted of tiny microbes not seen on earth before. Initially thought to be bat blood, contents of a meteorite then the remains of an alien life form, but no one knows for sure. The microbes properties are highly unusual, being able to reproduce even in water heated to 600 degrees Fahrenheit (CNN 2006).
Weird things are falling out of the sky on a regular basis; read Charles Fort's Book of the Damned. Full of such cases captured in detail. Enjoy.

I remember hearing about this on the news ages ago, trippy yet very interesting.
Cool post Soupy. *Leaves croutons and sour cream* original.gif

By now, at least someone in that district must have drunk some water contaminated by a few of the red things. It should be important to know the biological effects on living creatures. Will this become an alien plague?

I think I remember that one of the american space probes crashed itself into a comet, to see how hard it was. And then the comet exploded into powder. What if the powder remained in orbit around the sun, until the earth came by in it's path and the powder entered the atmosphere?
The Last Unicorn
Good point. I can't see why that might not be a possibility.

Interesting.

At first I thought it was going to say that dust and iron maybe somehow mixed with the rain clouds, but that wouldn't explain these cells.

Sawarski's suggestion sounds plausible... I wonder how many people who saw it first hand thought it was a sign of the apocalypse... rolleyes.gif

Wow ! This is very interesting. I never saw this on the news though... wish I had. I wonder why we havent heard anything else about it? Maybe the scientists who were studying it were in too close of contact and turned in to alien zombies and were destroyed by the government and it's all been covered up? lol jk. No but seriously... why havent we heard anything else?

This story was all over the place when it came about... what was it, 2002? 2001? Or maybe 2003-4 or 5. Can't recall.

Some said it was sand from some desert drifting in. Some humbug Indian-scientist said it was some alien life-form. Published a report on it. Many questioned his findings, but he wouldn't share material or however it went. Can't recall exactly, was so long ago since I read about it. Some drivel about martian meteor exploding in the air.
Some theories said it was a fungus common to the region that was responsible for the rain turning reddish.

You remember incorrectly...to learn what really happened google deep impact mission.

Because the actual explanation wasn't as interesting as "alien microbes"?

Bear's Quest
Could it be 'Panspermia,' some alien wants to spread his love to India?

That is strange, I found articles agreeing with what I said. A space probe being deliberately crashed in order to see the debris, and releasing a large cloud of dust.

To my "eye" there is a difference between your 2 posts.

Which is what I was commenting on. original.gif

Cronus
or perhaps this could be cosmic dust that somehow ended up in our atmosphere and combined with the clouds ?
JET SAVAGE
the black plague that hit europe could not have travelled so widely under the then weather and communication speeds and has been acredited to being from outer space...yet, a new energy increase has hit earth recently from space...the same energy that has created global warming all over our solar sytem.accelerated our concept of time..this energy relates to chi, and is in fact an empowering energy......

we are on a changing planet for many non terrestrial reasons, our sun decides our seasons of plenty, famine migrations etc, pace microbes must have altered our dna collectively at times and to accept the concept that the only static/table reality in our universe is change, would allow us the emotional armour neccessary to accept life as unpredictable out of our reach to fully control.....instead of suppressing the facts from worrying the neighbours with our doom gloom news...lol...

I wait to ee if indian children develope horns and such over the coming years... ;)lol.
