Simple question with hefty answers.

What film in history best relates to your sense of the word "Magic?"

For me it was 'Pan's Labryinth', it carried so much myth on it's back but never waned. Really amazing visions of the strange and beautiful things we have yet to discover on this planet or even beyond.

Great List! Yeah, even though I can't stand Cruise, Legend is such an awesome movie, and it really is magical to me. I also love Dragon Slayer.

I think I must be the only fantasy fan on earth who does not like Legend.

Alice in Wonderland is up there for me. Narnia movies. Did not see Pan's Labyrinth yet. Labyrinth. The Dark Crystal. Ladyhawke.
Paranoid Android
I've thought about this one for a while, and though there are many worthy choices, the original post asks for just one, and that is..... *drum roll, please* ...... :

Alice In Wonderland!!!

Based of Lewis Carol's writings, this piece of cinematic history (the cartoon, not the other live-action films, though they were also magical - except for that cringeworthy stop-motion movie "Alice", by Sven Jurgenmeister, or whatever his name was) fits the bill in every conceivable way in terms of its magical qualities, both in its action and its feel.

OMG I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!! I found it on ebay and got it at a really good price! I have to agree. . .there was just something about Lady In White that really gets to you. . .

I'd have to say that The Labyrinth is WAAAAY up there for me. . .that movie is always the first one I think of when people start talking about fantasy movies. . .

Then, of course, even though I despise Tom Cruise, Legend is a very beautiful film. . . And Alice in Wonderland. . .I have to say I might possibly be more obsessed with the whole Alice in Wonderland thing than the Labyrinth. . .I actually preferred Through the Looking Glass (I think that's what it was called) with Kate Beckinsale in it to the disney version. lol.

Then, its not really "magic" so to say. . .I think "wonder" would be better, and I know I'm gonna get laughed at. . .but The Goonies was also one of my favorites. . .not fantasy or anything, but it sort awakens that childlike wonder in me again.
The Mule
I hate to admit it, but I would have to say Sorceror and the Stone because it came out when I was so young and it had a HUGE impact upon my life....

Props to goalienan and "Somewhere in Time" starring the not-so-late Jane Seymour

Princess Bride was a good choice too

Excallibur
Chokmah

Hrmmm.... pretty much all of my thoughts are already in this one... Hrmmm....need to think of new ones that haven't been said...

Krull (Not to be confused with Kull the Konqueror <Kevin Sorbo is and always will be Hercules>)

Ummm Ummm.... The Conan movies (The guvenator at (IMO) his best)

oooo! I think it was called Little Monsters... you know...with Fred Savage (I think) God it's been so long since I've seen that one.

But yeah... It took me years to figure out the name of Legend tongue.gif Saw it all the time when I was a kid and could never remember the name. Always remembered the Big horned Devil though.

There was another one... was a cartoon... but involved a kid named Nemo...or Nero... or something... Flew around on his blanket into dream land... can't remember anything more about it, but remember loving it as a kid.

Ok, I think that's good enough for me tongue.gif
